Greetings,
Caveat: This is not an 'ED fanboy' post (though more suitably it might be considered an FDEV fanboy post
)
I've played Elite Dangerous since the Alpha was released at the beginning of the year (though if I am brutally honest it was an afterthought after backing Star Citizen...enough said on that front!).
From the off I have been impressed with the consistency and standard of the updates Frontier Developments have deployed, oh don't get me wrong there has been a couple of minor issues along the way, no one is perfect all the time
That said; I feel it is worth taking a moment and looking at what has been achieved, I don't mean from a game play perspective, but from a commercial standpoint.
To deliver on time (give or take a few days) a polished, fairly bug free update time after time takes some doing! More so given the magnitude of improvements that are seen at each major release!
Anyone who has played any online game in the last 10+ years knows how painful updates can be *cough* EVE online *cough*
I think it is safe to say that everyone at Frontier Developments deserves some recognition for the part they have played (so far) on this journey. Even those lurking in the shadows we never hear about/from.
Keep up the exceptional work and we look forward to seeing what else you can amaze us with.
Fly safe, fly straight and if all else fails use a docking computer....
