Here we go...The Update has Started

On that note, how come updates are always slower when downloaded directly than when downloaded through Steam?
It has been posted here in the course of some other update, that the client update will be replicated to several servers initially. After that download speed for clients should improve. Valve maybe has a faster back end.

so quick question
if i have my game on steam, should i still have to go thru the store to download the launcher or patiently wait for steam to do all the work ?

My Steam does not update the game.
Should I post a thread here? Write a bug report? Ragequit and demand a refund?

Alright, Launcher is now upgrading the Game (PC)... Let's see how quick that download goes.

Well the new launcher was quick and painless. Started the process, went for a cup of coffee, when I got back there was a screen with a box that said finish. Did that and when I clicked on the new desktop icon it asked for a verification code from an email. Did that and I'm in but servers are still doing what ever it is they are doing. I guess now we just wait... then see what has changed when everything is up and running again. I went in thinking it would be a fight but ended up with a back massage.

It usually has 4-6 hours of constant disconnects/authentication server errors. I suggest skipping the next few hours and save yourself the frustration.
