During stream I think they clarified - or after that I can't remember - that it is possible that depot mechanic appears in "normal" missions. Those still would be seen as something you complete alone - even if you have escort.

Are these wing mission changes also carrying over into non-wing missions? If I'm in a 50T cargo ship, can I grab a 200T cargo mission?
You can accept wing missions and perform them solo. With non-wing missions being linear, the mission depot (for wing missions) treat the mission as a loop and this inclusion changes missions on a fundamental level. So, normal delivery missions with not gain the mission depot at this time.

In regards to porting all missions over to the wing mission system, I don't want to do that because I want finer control. Someone suggested that low level wing missions spawn with low amounts that are suitable for solo players. However, it would actually need to cover the full range of player skill and then the full range of wing sizes and skill levels. Considering how difficult it is to balance a mission template (rewards, challange, branches etc) for just the skill range of a solo player I decided to split wing missions into their own templates that faces the challange of being balanced for either high level solo players or 2+ wingmates.

Also on a more practical standpoint it's a lot of work to port any mission over to being a wing mission, with a lot of new (and in some cases very difficult) questions needing answers. By making the wing missions new templates we allow ourselves the opportunity to solve these challenges while not impacting any of the normal missions we have in game. That way we add options for our player and don't risk taking away something players might already enjoy.

I have to admit, it would be cool to be able to treat every mission like a wing mission if we wanted. Would also add immersion if I could just ask friends to help me with a lucrative haul. There might be balancing issues and technical stuff, but well... Would be great!

You can treat as wing mission already. Issue is that you can't pay your wing members without introducing 'buying rare goods and dropping them' loop.

I would like to see wing missions to be like this - high difficulty missions. Something that even mission giver knows you will need help with it.

As for regular mission it should be that you can wing with others for help and they get compensated by you, hopefully by your own terms.

This is another good suggestion. I think it would already be good enough to give our wing members half of our mission profits. You would still be the one fulfilling the mission but they get some money because they act as an escort. I can't see how they would need to change every mission template for that because technically there aren't any wing mechanics involved, apart from the payment which is something they are completely re doing anyway.
