minus the ones specifically composed for those games (Frontier Theme, Quality Quartet etc.) - those would be replaced with new music.
Oh, that's a shame. Was hoping for a general musical direction like
this remake, but with much more live and organic big orchestra feel to it.
Back then it was understandable with limited amount of tracks. But now space and memory management makes it a non issue. Could even be a dynamic download thing as they find and add more and more music.
Some of my choices:
Bach, Cello Suites (BWV 1007, 1008, 1009, 1010)
Those four broken up into their individual parts could make a decent amount of tracks for a given event type.
The best of Bach, except a better version of 17 (which here have a completely weird start (imo) but at least include the fugue - which is a must

).
Again, use of pure church organ tracks (regardless of composer) in a certain fashion, could be an indicator of certain events. Probably not combat music
Some Mozart slow piano (solo, no orchestra) movements and/or some
Chopin Nocturnes (other romantic piano stuff as well); again special feel and instrumentation to certain events.
Albinoni- Adagio in G Minor - tracks in this line are obviously suited for KIA events.
Some
Gregorian chant tracks which can be fairly short. Heavily featured in Civilization 4, and absolutely stunning. Other choral stuff
here (only the pure vocal ones), the Barber one (Adagio for Strings arranged as Agnus Dei) can be split in three parts if shorter pieces are desired. Think I might have split the chants with the rest as far as event type goes.
Basically, what I'm saying is that the music chosen could be so much more than the power symphonies and waltzes.
