Highly dissapointed

Just look at the new ships upcoming

Courier:
1.Only thing that made me try get master in empire is the thought of it being the new fastest ship:DENIED
(I dont count orca beacouse its useless) so by my thinking new update should have brought 2 above 20 millions ships but it made just the opposite

n
Start taking part in pvp instead of hiding in solo, see how you value the cheaper ships then. As for the orca it is "currently" useless, but that is going to change with the introduction of passenger ship missions.

I think we should get , for the new players ones who dont have much cash a Cobra MKI.
But to be fair , I feel that its balanced as for combat for me as ships like the viper , eagle and vulture and of course the cobra can be long term ships and if you dont plan on going up with massive ships the viper is perfect

Courier = $2.8m
Diamondback = $40m

My estimates from size/role estimates. This weeks newsletter states that the Courier costs just more than two type-6's, and I think the Diamondback will be an Asp with less internal bays, and more hardpoints ("Combat" role, the real question is why?))

The courier isn't a useable ship its 2million with less ability than a cobra thus a cobra is by far a better ship for everything and with a small rebuy so there are no pro's to the courier atm, maybe when we get passengers yes as you could maybe have improved quarters in the courier.

Just what i was trying to say

And you know that because you've seen all the stats, size of internal compartments, size of it's modules, etc? How about we wait for it to actually comes out and than judge if it's "usable" or not.

Sounds reasonable, but this is an internet forum :p

I'd love it if there were expensive small ships.

You know, the space Ferraris of Elite.

One can only hope. It looks like the Courier is not very expensive at 2.5M CR. Maybe the Diamondback will be? I kind of doubt it. But I am holding out for a high priced refresh of the Eagle at some point.

I think when all of them out they will need to do a rebalance where every ship has a role, but I 100% agree with this a small nippy super fighter would be awesome, or maybe just expensive variants

There are enough cheap ships in the game because you are rich and beyond them. To those of us who want the intermediate step between our current ship and the next one, there aren't.

And quit ragging on these ships before they've even come out. We don't even know the specs on them or what they are good at yet, so just stop.

At the moment there aren't more cheap ships needed.
There already is something for every possible taste.
(EDIT: Hauler / Type6 for pure traders. Adder, Cobra / Asp as really good multiroles. Eagle / Viper / Vulture offer good combat progression. Explorers use whatever suits them, Hauler, Cobra, Asp.)

On the top there are a few things missing:
- a trader between the Type-7 and the Type-9
- an explorer between the Asp and the Anaconda
- a long range trader that isn't the Anaconda

Dedicated combat ships end at the FDL (I am not sad about this).

The upgrade paths are currently very linear and you really do not have many choices in the 10 mio + range. The 15 million price point is rather empty (Type-7). The 25 million pricepoint consists of mainly faction ships. Then it's nothing until 55 mio (Python / FDL). Then come the T9 and the Anaconda.

There really are enough ships at the bottom. The top is lacking.

While what you write is correct in the min-max way of looking at it, some of us would prefer a 2+million courier and the design/style/pure awesome look of the ship then the more "functional" Cobra that looks like its been through 5 owners, none which bothered to even wipe off the instrument panel.

Not everything needs to be the "best", because that would lead to power-creeping really fast which in turn would hurt the game.

Not to put words in anyones mouths...what is needed is something to do with the low end ships....or people to figure out what the ships are capable of. I've had some fun armoring up a sidewinder and tooling around an RES. The ships are cheap to outfit...give it a go and try doing something with them!

Bit selfish really.

What you are implying is that you have a bunch of cash and you want ships exclusive to people who chose to grind the game instead of play the game.
The 1%er ships.

There are the 1% of players who have too much credits to spend.
That should be matched with 1% of content. Which is currently in the game. (Anaconda for example).

They shouldn't be gating further ships to satisfy the wants of the few to needs of the many
