Hopefully update 13 will fix Odyssey's broken flight mechanics

Not doubting your observation but it seems unlikely they would have changed the code for this in EDO - why would they?
Maybe you observe some performance issues triggered by something else in your system with the EDO version.

I see that the issue has been reported for some time without being acknowledged by FDEV nor raising votes to a higher degree. Again, I am not doubting your observation but the root cause remains unclear. Could be triggered by a lot of reasons not necessarily a bug with the thrusters code as such. I hope it will investigated, especially if many CMDRs are experiencing the same.

There are also auto-dock/launch issues in Horizons, so I don't think it's Odyssey-exclusive? Some issues which are probably as old as the auto-docking itself are:

  • Ship being forever on "waiting on queue" for docking when the traffic is very busy, even after it clears out.
  • Docking not accounting for buildings in specialized stations, or the asteroid bases, so it may crash into them and keep crashing until you're dead.
  • Launching not calibrating correctly for the mailbox, so it keeps hitting a wall above/below it because it thinks the exit is there. This also happens to NPCs.
The lateral/vertical thrusters might be an engineering issue not affecting them but I haven't tested it in-depth.

The observation is valid
Lateral and vertical thrusters do seem weaker (or the ships inertia is way bigger)

This issue does not affect only docking computer approach, but also manual flying approach in any situation that involves lateral thrusters usage (well, verticals too)

Edit mostly noticeable while flying the Cutter, but it's observable on many other ships
I even had a DBX overshooting (lateraly) the pad when coming to land at a carrier. IT actually overshooted twice, first on one side, by a lot, then over compensated and overshooted again on the other side.
A DBX

Yes it's true, landing a Krait is hilarious in odyssey. The boat just keeps gliding sideways many seconds after cutting thrust.
.... just added my contribution to the other game thingy.
