Hori hotas announced

I'd like to see it supported by Elite on xbox. The Thrustmaster One is good but a little cheap feeling, the Hori one looks like much better quality. Guess we'll have to wait and see though.

If Elite does support it, I will buy it.

You know, provided they don't charge $250 for it...

It was announced the same day as the PS4 version that it was releasing for Ace combat 7 on xbox and PS4.. but the only price announced was for PS4 of $199.99, this was before the release date was then removed from retail sites and so was the price

no release date has shown up ever since on retail site... The Xbox version will not have haptic feed back aka no rumble...

So it did show up at lower than $250...

That's too much LOL.

An X52 is cheaper and offers more features.

I'd pay $110, tops.

I think everyone is becoming faddled with the £250 price tag on everything for an Xbox. The Hori is a remodelled T-Flight XS...nothing more... and deserves a sub £100 pricetag.

To introduce some perspective...This is a £200 HOTAS...

This is a £350+ HOTAS...

This however...isn't even remotely in the same bracket...despite the big boy price tag.

And the Thrustmaster T-flight X-Hawk or XS (in itself, a reasonably decent HOTAS)....Psst...it isn't £250 either

Mate you make me want an X56 so bad!

I might seriously consider saving.

Even my old X52 Proflight which I paid £75 for new from Amazon, again ...note all those other sub £250 HOTAS rigs have programmable LED backlighting, fully integrated programming and calibrating software, 3 separate configurable modes tripling the available inputs via the mode switch, metal base plates and components...

Now tell me that the Hori is even remotely the equivalent at that ridiculous £200-£250 price tag.

This isn't about whether those other products work on an Xbox or not...it's about Microsoft ripping their Xbox customers off by removing the possibility of competitive products, not understanding the products they endorse or even simply refusing to implement universal driver support on the Xbox which is already included in their Windows APi.

(really old pic)

It's showing up as Jan 18 again on Amazon, @ $199.

Warthog is more than twice the price of the Hori, won't just plug into a console and work, and doesn't even have twist.
Seems like apples and oranges.

As for the X-56, aren't those things known to have terrible reliability?
They don't just plug into consoles either, afaik.

I like the look of the Virpils that said.

The Warthog requires rudder pedals, which push the price tag upwards of the base unit HOTAS price of £250...the reason I don't have one. The X56 does have a twist yaw/rudder and it's not a Saitek product any longer except in brand name, it's parent company is Logitech.

Saitek got a bad rep when they were bought out by MadCatz, the old X55 suffered for that with less than poor build quality and reliability...since bought out by Logitech and each X5* product in the range now comes with a no questions asked 2 year Logitech replacement warranty... if it breaks...you get a new one by emailing the Logitech support site. No photos required of you cutting the cables either. You register the product via the Logitech web site once purchased and it's covered by that 2 year warranty...the software and drivers are now Logitech too.

As I said previously...This isn't about whether they work on a console or not, it's about the £200/£250 asking price for ...frankly... a cheaply designed and finished piece of Yuppie plastic compared to vastly superior hardware at less than half of that price in some cases.

This is what Microsoft should have done if they had any understanding of the hardware peripheral products they chose to endorse...quality and value for money.

Thanks for the info, and agreed, but your numbers still seem off.
Warthog Hotas w/o pedals is $465 on Amazon.

Hori is $199.

Should I go PC at some point, I suppose that puts the X-56 back in contention.

That said, this is a console thread and the only options for us(aside from using third party hard/software to make it work) with Elite are currently the HotasX/4 and possibly the Hori; and the Hori looks to probably be worth the $120 difference, frankly.

All a matter of perspective.

I agree with all that Bob, I waited around for over 7 years for Microsoft to at least attempt to revive the old Sidewider FFB 2 so I could continue the dream of flight sims on an Xbox...never to be, sadly and I gave up and went back to PC.

I still wouldn't be in the market to spend not only the £250 asking price for the Razer turret KB/M and add another £200 for yet another cheaply built HOTAS...that puts the Xbox flight experience in the same price league as a decent PC gaming rig just on the price of the Xbox One X and two basic hardware peripherals alone.

I still play on the One X regularly, although Elite is a singularly PC experience for me these days after the 3500 hours I put in on the Xbox since GPP...which slightly qualifies me to shove a post in here now and then, more as a comparison having my feet in both camps...so to speak. ;)

It's unfortunate that the comparison seems increasingly less than favourable of late with regard to the Xbox and Microsoft's short sighted and predatory marketing strategies.
