hope this might help some of you all find the launcher info after downloading it to get to the install.
There are two issues currently ongoing with the Frontier Launcher that will make it appear too large on your screen to display the PLAY button:
Running a low resolution
If you are running a screen resolution with less than 810 vertical pixels (eg: 1366 x 768) you may not be able to see the buttons at the bottom of the launcher.
To resolve this, please check to see if your screen supports a higher resolution. To do this right click on your desktop and select
Screen resolution or
Display settings, from here please try selecting the highest resolution possible from the
Resolution drop down.
If you are not able to select a higher resolution then you may have problems logging into the launcher. We are working to find a permanent fix for this but in the meantime you can move or hide the Windows taskbar to reach the login and play options.
This issue should be resolved as of 27/11/15
Scaling on high DPI screens
Scaling is a useful feature on many programs, however this is not a feature of Windows that works well with the new Frontier launcher. However, we can help fix this for you.
Simply locate the Elite Dangerous game launcher, right click, select 'Properties' and navigate to the 'Compatibility' tab. Please tick 'Disable display scaling on high DPI settings'.
You can find the .exe for this by searching for 'EDlaunch.exe' using Cortana (Windows 10) or navigating a path similar to the following:
- [STEAM USERS] - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\
- [FRONTIER STORE USERS] - C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\Products\
