Maybe they were trying to avoid massive server issues, still I think those of us who have been playing since early on should have been added first if this was the case, I started during the original games beta and I'm a bit mad, I can just imagine how some premium alpha backers feel.

I'm a PB backer playing since early and had no issues at all, about 1.5 hour download. Unfortunately I just crashed to desktop trying to land outside a settlement on unsuitable terrain - although it looked level. The fps does seem slow compared to my normal play- I'm sure there may be some more optimizations to do.

I did not see the G-force indicator for the planet. OK, relaunching.

download launcher from frontier store, steam launcher doesnt have horizon beta

It does if you don't launch it through Steam, if you just run the launch client directly that was download through Steam. Kind of weird.

And honestly Micheal Brooks and anyone from frontier should be posting like crazy on here telling us what they are doing to fix this. especially with all the hype over it.

I'd prefer them to be sorting the issues than telling us what issues they have. Otherwise we'll get the 'Arnold Rimmer Exam Revision Timetable Issue'.

You guys must be worse than headless chickens right now. I'm one of the few (or many) that can't connect due to presumably server overload. Still, hard to be mad considering how much work you guys are doing right now.

Michael I have to say this is the ONLY forum where a man of your position in the company actually replies to its customers on a forum. I know it cannot be easy to answer people all the time, but I take my hat off to you.

The fix will come when it comes, I didnt expect it to come out today, but I will wait until tomorrow for my early access/beta test.

Looking forward to flying all the ships onto a planet and having them all lined up for people to film.

Get some sleep, it may be due to massive volume of people.

Please, FD, check your access permisson system for downloading the Horizons Beta. Reading all the postings in this thread the whole evening, it really seems that something is going wrong with the permissions depending on the product purchased (premium beta backers, lifetime pass owners, regular Horizon beta purchases).

Please, all others, stop suggesting re-installing the Launcher over and over again. Once Horizons 2.0 Beta is in the launcher's list, it won't help.

Note:
The new Launcher (the one with the much larger window) should be 64bit, even if the installed E is 32bit. You can verify it by looking at the task manager. On 64bit Windows, a process list entry "EDlaunch.exe" means 64bit launcher, while "EDlaunch.exe *32" means 32bit launcher.

Thanks for the update Michael. Couple of things:

- Not sure that the lack of availabillity of planet landing module etc is only due to the location - I was at Founder's world with other players. I could see all the items I wanted on the list, but they said they could not see them, then after a few minutes suddenly they saw them, then they vanished again. Everything was ok for me. May possibly be due to servers still syncing up?

- I noted that ships that I already own do not have a planet landing module, but ships that I buy new have one alrready fitted. Is that intentional (the latter)?

- How do we know which installations on the surface have landing pads?

- How do we drive the SRV away from our ship? I managed to land next to some kind of base, and I wasn't the only one with that idea as I ran into commanders Mobius and Astrodamus at the same location and landed next to them (wow by the way ) We managed to launch our SRVs from the ship, but we couldn't drive away from the ship. Log out and in again and our ship had been dismissed and now we can drive the SRV. Is there some special control you must use to release the SRV once it's on the ground?
