News Horizons Beta Delay to Monday 30th November

It has already been taken, prior to 1.5.
1.5 Beta and 2.0 Beta will be playing in the same worlds - though we want to encourage 2.0 people to restart (don't worry - it won't affect your main game save), as we have a new on-the-surface start position.

Is it Merlin in Ross 154? It can't be - Merlin has some form of atmosphere. Then again hmmm...

I think Merlin is in Ross 154. But I'm pretty sure that won't be a start location (at least for Horizon) as it does have atmosphere. At least it did in FFE as I couldn't go from surface to space (or vice versa) without atmospheric shields. Every time I tried my ship just went to pieces
Are people really getting upset over a few days delay? Geeez... Be glad you're not awaiting DCS stuff is all I can say

Good idea to have that, it's a useful medium for sending out alerts/notifications to gamers rather than through this forum which people might miss. Some nice new paintjobs in that image too.
As A Test Evironments Manager I know what you mean especially when another project needs the code dropping into their test environment too

My take on delays : This is only for the Beta...
Just wait when they make the final push to release before the Holidays.
IMHO that'll be similar to what we saw last year Pre-Release.
They're in crunchtime already, telling me they're super busy both with getting the V1.5 into a Release build right now AND get Horizons going.
Might be in order to ship Coffee, Doughnuts and Pizza 24/7 into their offices until that day
I certainly do not envy those guys. They still got a full month to go, let's hope they can keep the pacing without screwing something up badly (which IMHO is easy under those stress & work levels).
So regardless of expecations (everyone has theirs, completely natural - me being no exception), might be in order to cut them some slack until Release.
We only got what we got and none of the Team can do magic.

Is the new launcher Steam only atm ? Because I can't find it, tried to update my launcher but it didn't change it.
If you go to your Frontier Store account you can download it there...just did it myself.

There's no steam edition, you will simply update through the launcher if you want to play the beta or through steam later on when it's released.

There will be an entirely new launcher to download from the Downloadable products page when Horizons is released. It says about it on the support FAQ's
Well, let's see if he can pull a Thargoid from a UA then... It ain't gonna make the rest work quicker.
