News Horizons Release Date – Tuesday 15th December

So, I downloaded the Horizons client from the store (only 122 meg??)
IF I install it, and launch the game from steam, will my play time be added to my current game play time?

No because if you launch from steam you will not see Horizons in the launcher.

hmm... over 6 hours of downtime ? Usually devs have a server partition for update/upgrade testing, I see no reason for the servers to be closed for 6 hours... Well I hope horizons will be worth it.

Maybe if you give them a phone call and tell them, they might not even of thought there was an easier way to do it? :D

I am a cheap person, so a long distance call is out of the window. I can only think and ponder this subject and hope they have some sort of mind-reading equipment. Beign completely realistic ofcourse. Downtime just seems unrealistic thats all. If horizons is worth as much as the all famous hype train has told me, then I am fine with this downtime.

Don't worry, There is only ONE you! on the server. It will recognize you and your progress where every you come from.
If when it all shakes out, you think its wrong, you can put in a ticket.
AFAIK you will get a steam key when its available through steam.

Hey, I've no idea what they are up to, they might of just shut the servers down so they can get some 'buggy' racing in before the masses bring the servers down properly!

All we need to know is it will be done when it's done.. :)

This is normal. Its a massive update so not only do they have to add the new stuff on they need to do some testing. 4pm is not a bad time. Most people work office hours so for us in the UK who are at work we are happy don't want all the others getting a whole day before we do. Anyway I will keep reading the forums laugh at the funny bits and sigh at the moaners lol.

For FF14 the expack update was a 24 hours downtime. So 6 hours is pretty tame.

"Our servers will be going down at 08:00AM GMT for this update and they will be back up when everything is stable, this should be at around 16:00 GMT all being well."

Alright I've got that!nothing till 4pm and then everyone start downloading in a same time-> server problems -> take ages to download -> server disconnects-> pffff I'll play 2morrow -> .....-_-.......

Yeah I see what you are saying, it's a pain if you are following that.

There is a website that you can upload your logs to that tells you your game time.

Hopefully it won't be too long until we are back in steam, if it's only a couple of days just record your hours that you play. Then if it's say 40 hours you are missing, just run the game without playing to make up the difference. Not ideal I know but it would work.

But also the servers know your game time as well, it used to be in the stats in game back in the first Elite beta. I think that should be put back into the game, maybe they could be asked to do it?
