I opened launcher manually through EDLaunch.exe and click "UPDATE". The launcher basically freezes but in task manager under the performance tab you can see things moving about. Took less than an hour to update and when finished PLAY was available and I could launch from Steam as per usual.

I think it's for all players that did'nt buy Odyssey on Steam or Epic Store.

OK, back in the mix now with the update, managed to escape the prison that was Alexandria and took a war mission with a faction but...
The planetary site is deserted and my dropship has just left me there, I have no idea how to get it to return to pick me up. Apparently you can book a shuttle wherever you are but I haven't worked this out yet.
Any ideas?
The graphics and gameplay will need to evolve, rather a lot, at least planet side but they're getting there with some other stuff.
A lot of work to go for Fdev but I think it's got legs.

I have an anger issue
that stems from extremely poor release planning and execution that is repeated to the extreme every release of new stuff.
I have worked for many companies that love to quote 'Lesson Learned' and now we are better and wiser...etc...

Currently Odyssey is nothing but vaporware.
It has bulk
it took time
it took space
but it seems all it did for me was make it so I cannot SHOOT in a game designed to SHOOT

in my case there are many more details that you are unaware of and don't matter
frontier picks on people in this game.
They have been picking on and at me since the first CG in Paresa.
They thrive on conflict.
And with me they found a cmdr that takes on everything. over and over and over
they keep inserting pmf's into my systems
not just systems I have expanded into either. systems that I and many others fought for for 2 years.
We won our fights and the properties and frontier steps in and gives those systems away to more pmf's
They know they are doing this. it is very specific and pointed and not un-noticed.
But I don't mind. the harder it is to win, the better I like it.
But here, now, you take away my bullets...
you destroy most of the work I have spent 8 years building
and lastly make it so I can now not even defend my ships.
If I could figure out how to detonate the hafnium....
I have lots of ships a couple carriers....I can shoot and rearm my srv...not much use though..
By the way, this is how you aid the opposition. get fdev to disable a players ships. for days on end....
