Hot takes for planet zoo

I don't want any of them, but if I have to, yes, elephant over rhino. I already paid for the rhino twice + base game. Surely not a goat and sheep situation, but well.
And the nw rhino models are good, so not even in need for a better model.

Re exhibit: Most of it is also a height problem. I can love with width and length, but the height of these boxes drives me crazy. What do most of our exhibit animals need that for? In general the 4 Meter height is too much, even with shops.
I think we should be able to modulate the width, length, rooftop elevation AND floor elevation, not mentioning have more freedom with the ground, water, rocks and plants inside the tank and their placement. Exhibit management is a bit dull at this point.

I didn't see anything about a exhibit animal, where is it?!

Yeah, I’d pick the elephant over the rhino too, but it’s purely because elephants are my favorite animal.

My overall takes for the Asia Animal Pack:
  • I have no problems with the honey badger, macaque, tanuki, or blackbuck.
  • As much as I love elephants from the deepest depths of my heart, we didn’t need another one. I’m eager to see what they do with it though.
  • I think the deer is a good addition due to their conservation story.
  • I’m indifferent to the nilgai. It might grow on me. Who knows?
  • I think there’s a bit too much of a focus on the tropical regions of Asia. Swapping the nilgai with a yak would be my preference.
  • This was the perfect opportunity for a king cobra or Indian grey mongoose.
  • Just another butterfly? Meh.

I loved the Americas animal pack. I was ecstatic to get the Bush Dog, Coyote and Ocelot and I liked the Rhea well enough. Not so much unpopular for this part of the opinion but I would've preferred a different monkey species (marmoset or tamarin, tiny monkeys where are you?), a different bird species (Scarlet Ibis or Roseate Spoonbill were right there), and the sheep was meh but I give it a solid 8/10 for the Bush Dog, Coyote, and Ocelot plus having a bird even if it's a meh bird.

I'm not as excited about the Asia animal pack. I'd have to give it a 6/10. I only really care for the Tanuki and the Nilgai. The Honey Badger's ok but I'd have preferred a different carnivore like a mongoose or civet. The elephant shoud've been anything else (bird?, pheasant, duck, jungle-fowl, something?), I'm neutral about the blackbuck, not a big fan of Old World Primates so not into the Macaque, and I would've preferred a different deer (where's my small muntjac, vampire-like Chinese Waterdeer, or even the tiny mousedeer, which is not technically a real deer, but whatever?)

So in conclusion my Asia pack would've looked something like this:
1.Indian Civet or Indian Mongoose
2. Tanuki (Japanese Raccoon Dog)
3. Nilgai
4. Muntjac or Mousedeer
5. Any Asian Pheasant or Duck Species
6. Blackbuck (whatever, it's fine. I know alot of people wanted it.)
7. Atleast a more unique primate than another Macaque (maybe that golden snub-nosed monkey a lot of people want.)

My hot take for this pack is that I´m legit excited for the butterfly, probably even more than most of the DLC animals
It's genuinely a very smart pick as far as freebies go.
  1. Makes walkthrough exhibits useful in the base game
  2. Low effort in terms of modelling and animating
  3. Subtly advertises the DLC pack
The most surprising thing is that it took them 6 years to think about this approach
