what is your controversial or random dlc that you would love, rather if it's the theming, animal roster, and/or type of pack (scenery, animal, animal + scenery). It is prefered you also give your concept for the roster, it's not necessary though. Here is my example

Children's Zoo Animal Pack

Flemish Giant Rabbit
African Pygmy Goat
Shetland Pony
Golden Lion Tamarin
Mandarin Duck

Prehensile-Tailed Porcupine
Ocelot
60 scenery: education themed
Definitely less popular now that we have Eurasia and Zookeepers but I am still confident that a mountain animal pack could be really great with the right picks:
1. Gelada
2. Golden Snub Nosed Monkey
3. Himalayan Monal
4. Darwin's Rhea
5. Rock Hyrax
6. Aoudad
7. Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo

Extinct Animal Pack:
  • Thylacine
  • Dodo
  • Great Auk
  • Upland Moa
  • Horned Crocodile
  • Woolly Mammoth
  • Giant Ground Sloth
  • Oahu Treesnail (Exhibit Animal)
  • Christmas Island Forest Skink (Exhibit Animal)
  • Rabbs' Fringe-Limbed Treefrog ( Exhibit Animal)
  • Round Island Burrowing Boa (Exhibit Animal)
  • Sooty Crayfish (Exhibit Animal)

I agree on the previously mentioned children zoo packs. Would be a cool way to tie an at first sight random assortment of animals up in a pack.

Personally id do a couple domestics, ideally the (imo) main missing ones from the barnyard pack:
-Dwarf goat
-Some breed of rabbit, flamish giant perhaps
-A breed of duck, would probably go with muscovy as its a little more interesting looking as a plain white domestic duck, and you can also use it as the wild version making it pretty versatile.

Then id add a couple, common, small and cute animals, ideally docile ones who would fit as ambassador animals.
-Coati
-Squirrel monkey
-Patagonian Mara
-Red footed tortoise

Exhibit wise a beaded dragon, cornsnake or ball python would be makes imo.
And scenery wise more educational stuff and maybe playgrounds.

Best thing is that this would also be an undercover south america pack. But if one wants to make it a little more global the serval for example would also be a nice fit imo

I find the lack of Shetland ponies disturbing

I would love, LOVE getting more regional and “very specific” animal Packs.
Give me that Congo Pack, Amazon Pack, Madagascar Pack, India Pack, Himalayan Pack, Patagonian Pack, Sierra Madre Pack, etc.

Sure worldwide packs are nice, but the big issue I have is if you could use one or two more animals for a specific build you either got to mod or wait years for a half decent roster.

what is one animal that you want purely for "selfish" reasons, for example I want a hyrax because I think there neat, even though I don't really need them to build zoos I really want then anyway. Also for example, you want a animal just for one zoo/zoo recreation and that's about it. So anyway go nuts, and make it as random as possible, the only rule is no cryptids or extinct animals, besides that go crazy with your choice.
I have lots of unpopular choices:
Coyote, Eastern Coyote, Red Wolf, Eastern Wolf, Golden Jackal, African Golden Wolf, Black-backed Jackal, Side-striped Jackal, Ethiopian Wolf, Himalayan Wolf, Indian Wolf, New Guinea Singing Dog, Tanuki and/or Mainland Raccoon Dog, Bush Dog, Culpeo, Pampas Fox, Crab-eating Fox, Small-eared Zorro/Short-eared Dog, Hoary Fox/ Hoary Zorro, Darwin's Fox/Darwin's Zorro, Gray Fox, Island Gray Fox, African Wildcat, European Wildcat, African Golden Cat, Asian Golden Cat, Leopard Cat, Geoffrey's Cat, Jungle Cat, American Black Bear, Sea Otter and/or North American River Otter, Black-footed Ferret, American Marten, American Stoat, Least Weasel, Tayra, Brown Hyena, Aardwolf, Egyptian Mongoose, Yellow Mongoose, Indian Mongoose, African Civet, Golden Palm Civet, Common Genet, Ring-tailed Mongoose, Hawaiian Monk Seal, Galapagos Fur Seal and/or Antarctic Fur Seal, Leopard Seal, Virginia Opossum, Sulawesi Dwarf Cuscus and/or Sulawesi Bear Cuscus.

Tl; dr: Lots more carnivores, especially dogs, hyenas, cats, weasels, civets, and mongoose families. Some marsupials as well.

Southeast Asia Animal Pack II:
Includes a lot more obscure species, many of whom aren't that common in captivity. Also the first four are all I need to feel happy with New Guinea's representation.
1. Goodfellow's Tree-Kangaroo - Headliner
2. Crocodile Monitor
3. Victoria Crowned Pigeon
4. Eastern Long-Beaked Echidna
6. Celebes Crested Macaque

Mostly just an excuse to shove in most of my personal wishlist species.

2. Brazilian Porcupine
3. Tufted Deer
4. Shoebill
5. Rock Hyrax
6. Leopard Seal
7. Aye-Aye

Same as yours, except I'd replace Black-backed Jackal with Bat-eared Fox. Even without bat-eared fox though, I'd love a canid pack!

Hot takes (probably) regarding the teaser
Okay, so we know that we're getting:
  • Coyote - YES!!!! I'm biased because we have a lot of these here in Florida, and they're an incredibly adaptable species.
  • American Bighorn Sheep - Not a bad obligatory ungulate pick.
  • American OR Caribbean Flamingo - I'm not the most excited for another flamingo, but I'll still probably end up coming around to it.
  • Rhea - An essential South American habitat bird.
  • White-Faced Saki Monkey - I'd prefer a howler or spider monkey, but this is fine.
What I'd REALLY like to see:
  • Coatimundi
  • Brazilian or Andean Porcupine
  • Tamandua
  • Black Howler Monkey
  • Geoffroy's Spider Monkey
  • Bald Uakari
  • Patagonian Mara
  • Agouti
  • Ocelot
  • Bush Dog
  • Kinkajou
What I'm indifferent towards but might be an okay choice:
  • Black Caiman
  • Screaming Hairy Armadillo
  • Chinchilla
  • Nutria
  • Guanaco
  • Vicuna

Personally, I have 0 interest in "urban wildlife" being in a zoo game. They're animals people see in everyday cities and don't have the same purchase as uncommon animals. I strongly prefer seeing animals that I couldn't otherwise see because I'm just more interesting in knowing what's out there, and not what's where I already am.

If I'm paying money to see animals, they should be animals I can't find for free.

To be fair, someone who lives in Europe or Asia might find, for example, an armadillo to be novel while my dad certainly sees them as pests. (Seriously, I watched him sh**t one.) On the other hand, baboons may be a nuisance in Cape Town in South Africa, but we Americans would love to see them.

Fair point, there's definitely a regional difference in what's considered "urban wildlife" simply because of geopolitics. That said, there's generally some common threads like red foxes that appear worldwide in many cityscapes and suburbs across the world.

ok so no porcupines, waterfowl water birds or really any birds at all, no wombats, kangaroos, foxes, alot of the montior lizards, possums and quite a few monkeys including capuchins.
so much wildlife especially those that are well known will be in urban or suburban areas.

Perhaps I should clarify that I mean developed areas and not rural country-sides. I couldn't find any cases of these being commonplace in city areas (pulling birds from my meta-wishlist):
  • Wombats
  • Porcupines (Old World or New World)
  • Monitor lizards
  • Spoonbills
  • Lyrebirds
  • African cranes
  • Shoebills
  • Giant couas
  • Ground hornbills
I guess what I'm really getting at is urban carnivorans, which the only exception (even that admittedly ends up being pretty arbitrary). It's hard to really convey my specific disinterests when amplifying on a global scale.
