Horizons How about no?

How many times can you get interdicted? like seriously? Just because you have something in your cargo you get interdicted in almost every damn system! Who is actualy making this?? Cant even leave the bubble? you Frontier! Im done with this game, SC release sooner please.

the script is weak, some pirates always with the same conversation and the same approach.

FD are working right now will nerf many good things.

It's working, the servers are emptying.

Do you by any chance have a bounty on your head (in any system)? Don't know for sure, but I have the feeling this dramatically increases your chance of being interdicted. If in doubt visit one of the new brokers and check / pay off any outstanding bounties and fines.
If you get serial-interdicted by the same guy I found this to help (again may just be coincidence): Before low-waking away I make sure I'm at least 5km away from my attacker (they are no longer on my radar at all). It seems this either delays or completely gets them stuck and I can get to my destination. They often seem to pop up at the station again out of the blue, but now the station takes care of them very quickly for me if they attack.

I had a Corvette full of mining last night. Took me 5 jumps to get where I was going. Not one single interdiction. So I dunno what you're talking about.

I do have a bounty on me, no doubt it increases the chance. Its just so pathetic that they try to get you only, and only if you have a cargo or bounty. Last time, a FERDELANCE piloting pirate wants to get my cargo witch is like what.. 10k worth? lol. Made 5 jumps, got interdicted after all 5, in fifth time got annoyed, rage quit, was trying to get out of the bubble for a exploration trip, literally couldn't leave the bubble alive. I was flying a conda, exploration loadout, max speed around 150, no boost, no chance to get away from anyone. And anyway, this is no first time it happens, i just don't have the patience anymore, loved the game, but im done with Elite, have fun guys, hope it doesn't happen to you.

Interdictions depend on a great many things, including if you have any missions which result in hostiles coming after you, whether you have cargo, what ship you are flying (trade ships are more likely to be attacked than combat ships), and one important point, what systems you are flying through.

If you are routing through low sec, in a trade ship, with cargo, and missions, you best be prepared for interdictions.

To avoid random interdictions, route through high sec systems. The new route plotter is great for this.

To deal with pirates/hostiles who follow you due to missions, you need to get rid of them. You can do this by:

1) Winning an interdiction minigame (don't submit)

2) Submitting and killing those following you. If you have weapons fitted to your ship, even in a trade ship you can deal with weaker opponents, so get rid of the smaller ones yourself. Shame the NPCs are now clever enough to avoid mines, that used to be a great way of getting rid of annoying pirates.

3) Let the cops do their job. As long as you are in a medium or high sec system, the security response is usually fairly fast. Submit and run, but let them get a shot or two in. Cops should appear sooner or later, but you will need to circle a bit and get hit a bit (4 pips to shields!!!) to allow the cops to spawn in and join in the fun. Let the cops kill the pirate, join in to get the bounty payout.

If you are flying something with poor shields and no weapons and slow, then you will have problems with pirates, and you might want to reconsider what ship you are using.

SC release sooner please.

You think SC won't have NPC pirates that will happily go after your cargo? Interesting.....

As for release date, that one is wide open. First full release might be years away yet. Even amongst fans many are saying it might be 2020 before the first real 1.0 is released. But if you want basic and limited gameplay, its available now.

I do have a bounty on me, no doubt it increases the chance.

So its both bounty hunters and pirates after you?

Oh boy, sounds like fun. You can avoid the bounty hunters though by getting out of wanted systems... unless your bounty is quite large then they will follow you through systems. But then, if so, that's the price you pay for being naughty.

At the moment its so broken, I had 3 indications from a ship chasing some passengers I had on.

I submit, {sod trying the mini washing machine game of spinning around and around, dont have time for that}

1st) I sit there and I sit there and I sit there...right I'm off 4 3 2 Ohhh there he is bye... 2nd) I sit there..oh I know i'll get my crew some xp, ......oh fighter has finally come out of the bay...i sit there..see 1)

3rd) I think you see the picture...but this time I killed him as I was close to the station and didn't want a 4th.

Adding to this I also keep getting msg's about said passengers being chased after I have docked and about to drop them off.

I dont mind being interdicted its part and parcel of the game but its not working how it should be or maybe how it was intended, if it was intended that half of the pirates just open fire even when they are in a eagle/cobra/small ship, and I'm in a armed conda, something isnt right somewhere.

You know, this game is far to be perfect !

Interdictions depend on a great many things, including if you have any missions which result in hostiles coming after you...

This is the main cause of frequent interdictions in my experience. Some on those NPCs REALLY don't want you to complete the mission. If you stack missions then you'll be interdicted every couple of minutes. The fix for this is don't stack missions.

Broken....no other words.

I can fly the best ships in game but....i've decided to try the Cobra MK.IV for some fun. Feels great....but...:(

I was interdicted by a mission related NPC. I have fought against him. Brought him down to about 12% Hull and suddenly swoosh he was gone. No such things like 'fsd charge detected'....he has just left a highwake. Guess what happened? Right!!!!!
After my own hyperjump to next system he was INSTANT there again with full Hull and Shields. I was expecting that if a pirate flees, i have beaten him and he won't come back but NOOOOO.....i don't even have the chance to reload ammo and SCB and have already to do this again. But i can't finish him off because he leaves as soon as
-he get's in danger
-system security approaches

In a small ship i don't have the firepower to finish him off fast enough so okay....back to the big guns and doing a fast job on them. Sadly the only way to handly this. We can't even hide from them.

Other example:
Sitting around in normal space and just floating cause i needed some coffee. mission critical massage: 'you have a follower'
SWOOSH out of nowhere he was in front of me. Seriously? Even if he had checked all signal sources in the complete system, how is the chance that he can find me this fast? [wacko]
He was just spawned right to my position. Breaks every immersion that would have been possible

OH yeah, that bug has been with us since 2.1 i think. Damn annoying. Drop out of SC when you are being followed, and bam, they are right next to you. Almost had collisions with those on many occasions.

What I do with those is after dropping out of SC, exit to menu and then log back in. They haven't started attacking you, so no 15 second timer.

Depending on the NPC type, they will either have dissapeared competely, or still be following you, but will be back in SC where they should have been, so you won't see them again until you SC again.

I've reported this bug before, and i'm sure others have.

@agonyaunt ... some excellent advice as usual. Unfortunately lost in the chorus of snot fair, game borked, rage quit etc etc but hopefully someone will read and take notice. I am rarely interdicted these days and when i am, it is nothing more than a mild inconvenience. I suspect that a lot of this is obvious to us because we have learned it through experience and the mistakes we have made!

Another chance for high interdiction rates is being aligned to a major faction and flying in opponents territory as you will be seen as an enemy.

The bounty on yer head is not helping much either.

Yes it is a good way of working around it, but come on - menu logging as a prescribed method?

Lets look at the problems with your statements "Im getting interdicted too much this is crazy"
Asked for more details you reply
1) I have a bounty
2) I have cargo... (on exploration? Why?)
3) I am in an exploration Conda... with no boost.

I have to conclude, user error and nothing really unexpected happened with Elite. You are rage quitting out of your own mistakes all 3 of those are mistakes of your own doing, you should expect interdiction and expect death.

First and foremost even in an exploration ship, DO NOT FLY WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO BOOST. You need it for emergencies, either interdiction related and planetary emergency related should you venture down to planets.
In a Conda the lowest rated one i think you can get is a 5A unmodified, and if you get things engineered you can save 8 T and get a 5D. I have a ExploraConda with a range of 57LY its fine and i don't feel that dropping the boost ability is required for more range.

Secondly, why are you carrying cargo in an exploration ship? Going to Colonia? Iv done it before taking about 30 T of rares, with a jump range of about 50ly, never got interdicted maybe i was lucky? Still Cargo regardless is a trigger. maybe needs balance, sure I agree... but still its a trigger and you know that

Third You have a bountry... welcome to this thing called taking responsibility of your actions and living with the consequence.

One thing about ED.... YOU NEED TO READ!

I know a lot of players just gloss over the messages they get at stations and even coming to their in-box. The causes for this high level of interdiction has already been identified in this thread, and I agree that it is a combination of a bounty, mission based NPC attacks, carrying Engineer commodities and just random NPC activity within systems.

If the OP would read their mission briefings as well as get more clear on what a WANTED rating actually means in ED these days, they would have a lot less issues with this. At the very least they would better understand why they are getting interdicted so often.

Understand why we get interdicted so often?.. what??.. Bro, how many bounty hunters/pirates are there in each system then??.. I dont have the time to charge Hyper Jump after i jump to system to get to next one!! Like every single system is FULL of them! And about that boost, this is my SECOND exploration trip, well ok, was about to be, but yes, THANK YOU for advice, though too late.

Some of you dont seem to get the point, every single one of you defend the game until something bad happens to you. I have a bounty, i have a cargo, why should a bounty hunter miss a chance? Why would a pirate miss his payday (10k lol whatever), its all cool, BUT, imagine, please really imagine, you camp in a system, you have scanned all the ships in it right?.. so yes, if i jump into that system, only makes sense that im being found so quickly, but im not the only one whos traveling, and dont you need to get close to the target to interdict?? No??.. Oooh.. right, NPC.. The way it happens, too often sometimes, this was simply the last straw.

I play Elite since early access on Xbox One, then built a PC, so i have even bought the game 2 times, well ok maybe not, early access was cheaper. I have recommended the game to so many people, now i hope they wont buy it, otherwise ill be the one to blame if they don't like. Sorry for even making this post, like i said, who likes the game, im only happy for them, keep playin, have fun. I get more stress then fun from Elite these days, so wont play it, already uninstalled.

To the Moderator, sure SC will have it, but their team seems a bit more clever, no doubt they are reading some of ED posts, i think they will learn from ED mistakes. Just dont get me wrong, im no SC fan, im ED fan boy, i mean was.
