How can I afford a fleet carrier?

I need a method to get one, Any ideas?

Do i bounty hunt? Haul cargo? Passenger ferry?? WHAT CAN I DO!

Thanks CMDRS

Do whatever you want. Every method that brings in enough credits works, use external tools such as Inara to optimize. The hardest part is getting the five billion, the tedious part is farming the required weekly income.

Earn credits, it's as simple and complicated as that. I'm sure people will come along and give you all sorts of get rich quick methods, but 5 billion is a huge amount of credits. Then there's an extra billion to outfit it, then an extra 2-3 billion for ships to make owning one worth your while (a Cutter or T-9 for refueling it is a must though).

It's simply too much for just one method of credit earning if it's just for the carrier. You'll go strange if you do that.

Upkeep is overstated however. 20 million is an easy amount to make in a week when you consider that's 3-4 pirate assassination missions.

Do what ever "job" you feel will not burn you out. like prev stated you're going to need 8 - 9 billion. Once you are able to get that upkeep is trivial.

Hi friend, I'm answering from the other side, since I bought my carrier recently (doing the Robigo grind).
I should warn you that owning a fleet carrier while playing alone will ruin your gameplay.
Might be awesome fun with friends, but not alone. Because you will:
1. Realize that what kept you playing is the grind.
2. Try to explore the other careers (aside from mining, exploration or combat, because now that you own a fc you don't have to grind anymore), only to find out they're all broken or only partially implemented.

And when you try to pirate an installation only to find out the booty get stuck inside killing your limpets, or when you try to pirate a Beluga only to find out it won't give you Occupied Escape Pods, not even if you destroy it, you will start cursing this game.

To sum up, buying a fleet carrier got me uninstalling the game, so, really think about it.

Indeed it is, I need to do around an hour of play to pay for a month upkeep on my FC... That really is tedious! (even a fully fitted carrier is less than 40 mill a week, an hour of low effort play)
of
OP: I paid for most of my 1st FC doing wing massacre missions (all 4 in a wing sharing) at around 200 mill an hour of play...

So if my calculations are correct, I have a current run that gives me 32M per shipment. I need to do it around 200 times?

This should be fun, Unless anyone knows a better money screen haha
Thanks everyone!

Where can i find these wing massacre missions? Is this like a space version of a drive-by?

Do missions, mining, steal stuff and before you know it in 2-3 years time you'll have enough to buy half a carrier.

The rear end.

Joking aside Mr name, it's really a matter of doing what you want. Just find activities you enjoy from the list of high paying stuff above.

I'm going to risk saying that following videos will make you suicidal. But I'd also ask if you need this NOW, or can simply earn as you play over the next few months? It's a way to burn out if you're not careful as others have said - I really can't stress this, as the frustration will drive you batty!

Wing massacre missions attached to space Conflict zones worked for me. But they were done with some players with whom I'd fly alongside very happily.
Once allied to a faction or three it is comon for players to stack massacre missions against the same faction, each mission given by a different faction will count each 'kill' several times (so 4 missions to kill XX ships given by factios A, B, C & D - not 2 or more missions from the same giver)

Just my 2 cents. It appears to me that you are trying to blaze to all the endgame stuff as fast as you can. What then? The real fun is with medium ships usually, and doing things that aren’t particularly profitable. Although just about everything makes positive cash flow. Sounds to me like you will regret having fun along the way. And this could easily lead to your running out of things to grind and become bored to death. Slow down and just play whatever you find fun. The credits will constantly flow in, trust me.

Mr. Hat, I am happy to just clock along with wing massacre missions. I have currently 6 ships. But I can suddenly decide. Ok, I want to go explore? Then I have to travel 300ly to get my ship.

I'm just lazy, and want to be able to make all my ships go to me at the click of a button if I'm honest

Shipyards/Inter Astra ship transfers are your friend. They're also just standard one time fees instead of a weekly upkeep, not even including the tritium.
