How can I afford a fleet carrier?

Also, apparently you can't donate stolen tritium to your own carrier, so if you find a loaded T7 just turn the other way. ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW FDEV?!?!

I swear I try to keep liking this game but it's impossible....

You can actually use stolen tritium. Even before Fdev implemented it...

Also trade: A T9 with 700 ton will get you 35 million

I saved for mine in Feb this year, earning 3.5 bill in a week doing stacked massacre missions (solo)

Once you have a carrier, or can borrow one, mining expansion missions for indite, gallite and bertrandite earn a lot more.

And if you can borrow a carrier, get the owner to park it next to a spot selling palladium for 53k and buy it off you for the same. Then get them to move it to spot buying palladium for 71k, selling it back to you for 53k again. 15,000 tons will net you 400 million, but you'll need an unshielded T9.

By logic - fleet should be free for all players. Period.

If dev want to lock up this behind some invisible wall of grind - I recommend to do status with superpowers - if you have friendly with all of them you proved that you want to play game, spend a lot of time in bubble and you ready to pick up your fleet - put on carrier and fly off - enjoy game how you should since beginning, exploring deep space, mining if you want, hunt if you want... just freedom ;)

Er no!

Carrier owners in ED are akin to dog owners in RL.

While most are responsible & don't let their dogs roam free & pick up after them, some are irresponsible letting their dogs out & not picking up when they've :poop: in parks or on footpaths.

Similarly, you give everyone a Carrier & rest assured, popular places & CG's will be ruined with the maximum number of Ships filling up System after System.
This did cause other's issues in the past.....dunno if the Devs sorted that one out🤷‍♂️

But no!
You want a Carrier.....you earn it!!

After 5 (or is it 6 now) years of daily play I have 2 billion credits to my name but an awful lot of good memories and I still enjoy playing. Personally I decided not to bother even trying for one. I must say I'm kinda astonished by just how many fleet carriers there are knowing how much grind is required to get one. I wonder if FD are surprised too?
How many credits would you have if blowing up your own ship wasn't one of your major game activities 😁?

I started with 2B credits when FC became available in ED. Never thought I could get to the buy price.
Then started to see maximum credit prices for tritium being offered by new owners wanting full cargo tanks to jump out of the bubble.
They did not know how to lockout the unwanted from docking or how to watch their credits. So, using my Phat cutter I started to deliver Tritium to all I could see.
600-700T at a time. Searching for cheap stations near by loading up and heading back to the same FC several times. Above a 100M credits earned every time sometimes as many as ten visits per FC. And in Solo mode nobody saw me coming. The great tritium supply rush. This is how I financed my FC, earned 7.5B credits.
Hard to do these days , It seems every one has learned how to mange the tritium supply and demand and how to lock out docking visitors.
Oh, they also learned how to make sure their Inara location and market info data never relates to the true current FC market state. Yes, Inara does have lags after you logout.

Well, it's mean what is the reason of fleet update? Keep happy a small part of the community?

I don't want to bring other games here but let's be honest - competition give you fleet for free and everyone is happy - maybe is the right way to do?

I often set up a buy for 2k trit at 75k + per unit, and my carrier is set to all access.

I don't need the money, and I figure it might help others. And my tritium gets filled, so someone out there is helping themselves to some profit.

Yes I quite agree. There is a market level that helps. I do the same occasionally. To pay for my sins...

Those were good times.
I remember filling up other FCs. Buy at 4k and sell at 50 and 60k. Made a billion in an hour or so.

I'm sure before Carriers were released, Frontier stated that they wanted it to be an 'end game' type of Ship.......originally it was concieved to be a Squadron only addition - I'd even been looking into how I could utilize my Squadron of two into getting a Carrier........these were then scrapped.

Personally, Ive no issue with a Carrier cost or it's weekly maintainence costs.
