How can I find datamined wake exceptions, since there are no Famine systems?

I need to do some high energy wake scanning but there are no Famine systems. I’ve traded a lot of stuff like eccentric hyperspace trajectories already (I’m completely out of those as well, and need some of those for engineering my new ships), so I don’t have much to offer material traders at the moment. How can I find good sources for high energy wake scans now, since almost every system is currently in Boom and Investment?

The way USS are set up now, with USS state not dependent on system state, even when Famine state systems become available you might not be able to find any DWE in them so, something to look forward to . . . o7

I noticed that...even when I jumped from Boom/Independent to Boom/Independent system, it took up an entire evening to get 10 Proto Radiolic Alloys. I kept getting the wrong High-Grade Emissions, and finding War and Retreat HGEs. I just wish they didn’t fit the “exploit” (being able to return to the same HGE after quitting and reloading), since even with the “exploit”, it took me hours to find 10 Proto Radiolic Alloys.

But Distribution Centers aren’t a USS at all. That’s when a system is in famine (not enough food) and T9s supply food to ships who drop in and leave once they get some food. I’m pretty sure you’ll only find distribution centers in famine systems.

Despite the need for workarounds being a sign of a broken system, the best way to acquire DWEs (or any other scan data) is simply to go to the Jameson crash site with an SRV, position it in the middle of the 4 data beacons, swap to the turret, scan them all, relog until you've maxed-out all the data they provide (which won't take more than half an hour) and then go to a mat-trader.

The Jameson Crash site provides:-
- Atypical Encryption Archives.
- Adaptive Encryption Captures.
- Cracked Industrial Firmware.
- Modified Consumer Firmware.

Go to a mat-trader before visiting the Jameson site and trade all your stocks of these things for other stuff and then go to the Jameson site for another load of this stuff.

No, it's not exactly sparkling gameplay but this is the situation FDev have put us in so that's where we are. [sad]

Ooh! There are checkpoints in Civil War systems, that have a lot of ships passing through. I’ll have to check out Civil War systems tonight. There are lots of those.

Sit outside Jameson, Shinrarta Dezhra in open and scan all the wakes you need, busiest station in game.

Edit; ninja'd by shred, but a good place or as others have said farm something else and trade them.

And it only takes about 10 relogs :D I wish there were a site like this for G5 mfg mats.

Well, I went to over a dozen systems in civil war and didn’t find a single checkpoint. Looks like I’m gonna head to Jameson Orbital to scan high wakes, but at least people are super chill there.

That is so bad....

Historically, they cannot, are you saying this is new in 3.3?

I think SciTrekker means that scanning the data-beacon at a surface-scan location can yield DWEs.

Which it can.

Sometimes.

I guess if you like doing surface scan missions, or you're trying to gain faction/navy rank by farming those missions in a given system, then gaining some DWEs might be a nice little bonus but I wouldn't fancy relying on it.

Just use the mat trader. 6:1 is still way easier than finding them on their own. Modified Embedded Firmware, 5 a pop with delivery missions. I get about 20/h along with plenty of other G5 mats.
