How can we convince Frontier to resize the T7?

I did look at a T 7 on a large pad and thought to myself how funny looking it was. I'm not sure I appreciate the hostility in a conversation about a trivial aspect of a video game though. Anyhow, if your objective is create competition for the python, you don't need to mess with the T7 to do that. Making it medium capable is as good a solution as any, and not something I'd argue against. It just seems that upper tier of medium ship could be filled with something more creative than giving the T7 a haircut.

My suggestion: forget about making it a medium ship. Fit it out with a dozen hardpoints and make it a glass gunboat. Can't outrun, can't turn, can fit on medium pad, but can roll out the turrets and dakkadakkadakka....

Sorry for being so abrasive. I prefer that Frontier fine-tune existing assets rather than add new ones, but that's no reason for phrasing it the way I did, which after re-reading I realize was hostile for no reason.

I dunno man, I hear ya, but every time I fly the python I fall in love again. I don't know what it is. The way it moves, as well as being able to get 37% armor resists, 600ish shields that recharge in 50 secs, carry 192t, major DPS, nice yaw, and it's the second best looking ship in the game, still. I don't think I could support a buff for the python either, cos bottom line, it's still the best (most useful, most versatile, good at everything, bad at nothing) medium ship imo.

It also costs ~200 mil to A rate with military grade composite (compared to ~64 mil for a full A T7) and still has less hull points than a T7...

It'll happen about the same time they resize the Clipper. In other words, it won't.

I've yet to see Frontier release new ships with regard to what already exists so there's "balance" of some sort. They still haven't done a complete shipyard rebalance since release. Hell even CCP learned that this was necessity a few years back.

Some have great disadvantage, others much greater advantage. Yet we're supposed to believe it's a matter of "hard choices, blah, blah, blah"... yet the facts don't quite fit that narrative. Some remain simply "godlike" in comparison while others fade away. (DBS, anyone?)

I love my T7 it's my favourite trade ship, I think it's perfect as it is. I don't miss docking at outposts plus I have a jump range of nearly 40ly unladen. It also handles like a dream. The pluses outweigh the negatives, it's a damn fine ship.

Aye, one must admit, it has had a lot of improvements since launch

A Lot more hull
Larger Cores
Lighter hull Better Jump range
More optional.

As much as I have campaigned for the Type 7 to be a medium pad ship, FDev have really made it the an exceptional ship

Maybe before all the improvements she might have needs an edge, but now she has been built up out into the large ship but nimble ship for little credits we see today.

The Type 7 is the perfect medium pad freighter. Too bad it doesn't fit on a medium pad.
I think there is a fair amount of realism in the design of the Type-7.

Designing a transport ship, that is just a tiny fraction too large for the pad that it's so clearly meant for, shows a level of incompetence that would be typical of the bureaucracies that run this galaxy.

They'll never go back and fix the Type 7 and the Imperial Clipper.
They prefer releasing new ships from scratch.

It's too tall by less than 1 meter. Surely Frontier could adjust landing gear height, lower the floor in landing pads, compress the roofline of the ship or some other fix to make it fit there.
So how do we as a community convince Frontier that this needs to happen?

Also, should similar steps be taken with T6, which again is 1 meter too tall, and the Orca, which seems too long for a Medium landing pad, but still fits within the pad boundaries better than, say, a Cutter fits on a Large.

^^ This
Been wanting this to happen for years.....still waiting........

Guess there is such a thing as too much realism in a video game - even one with spaceships!
Maybe the Lakon Design Bureau has been infiltrated by Thargoids.
