General / Off-Topic How did you select your avatar image?

http://www.jeremygeddesart.com

Jeremy Geddes is an Australian artist who produces melancholy works of pathos usually involving astronauts often in bleak urban settings. (Melbourne).

I have a minature set of his prints, and if you subscribe you get notifications when there is another limited run on.
A close buddy has one of the large prints.
Set him back a penny.

it was my car........ i need to change it but cant bring myself to put a 308 or a qashqai on there ;)

A full nappy would probably be more apt for what i do in my spare time now ;)

You shouldn't be ashamed of owning a Ferrari!

I've had this avatar for a very long time on pretty much every forum I'm on!

Coincidence - and stubbornness.

When I made the forum account, I was reading Mary Gentle's book and decided to take the main protagonist's name for the forum. Since support, some time later, was nice enough to change my (boring) original commander name to my forum name, I decided to make an avatar. Found a suitable image on a russian free gif site[1] and added the inscription.

[1]A bit risky, I know. Therefore, did the extraction and image conversion on a Linux VM.

I have two avatars. Am I cheating the system? [big grin]

I use to have a starburst swirling avatar, friend of mine a decade ago made it. I thought it was really neat with the odd blade effect it had. [smile]

I use my character from EVE; it should be good because in EVE i payed a fully fitted battlecruiser to the the guy who create this :D

yes, you are cheating, but we will aprove of it this time.

Really enjoyed reading this and the reasons behind the Avatars....

Mine is a simple Ego trip, it's me, from a film I'm in.

think I'll change it soon.

Mine was the greatest toy a space loving 5 yr. old could possibly have in 1967, I actually agreed to get my tonsils removed to get the whole set. Ahh memories.
