How do you keep track of materials for colonisation?

Anybody noticed that some sysmap materials had a different naming than the actual colonization contact view? Microbial furnances for example were called something like heliostatic furnances. I'm copying the list from the contact instead of the sysmap since stumbling over this.
Yes someone said that the names in colonisation were the original names from many years ago.

At the moment, I'm just using a notepad (paper one:), mainly for the reason of not being able to check on my colony system mats required. Anyone know of a third party app that will keep track of materials you've ferried to your FC. Probably doesn't exist but I thought I'd ask:)
I know it won’t make Greta happy but I just print the requirements on paper and edit it with a pen as I go. Saves me having to swap out of the game all the time.

Elite Dangerous Odyssey Materials Helper (my preferred application for managing engineering) has a new feature for this but it's a) in beta and b) not particularly useful yet (my guess is there are no logs for the status of the to do lists on claims, so it can't track this). It shows you the requirements for each type of claim (though it's not accurate, at least not for me), how many of the commodities are on your ship, and how many are at the last port you landed at to buy.

It doesn't adjust the total required as you hand in, though, so it's useless right now. Just thought I'd mention it, because maybe one day it'll be more useful (but my guess is they'll need FD to make the logs available for that).

For now, if I'm at a port and ready to buy something of a specific quantity, I refer to the system map of my colony, which does show you the to-do list for commodities. But it's so faffy to get to (at least 7 button presses and a bit of scrolling). So I just use snip & sketch to take snapshots to refer to, showing on my second monitor.

I would like them to allow us to pin the to do list on transactions as a mission (like the first claim does), but also to allow us to see the to-do list there as well. Even better, would be the commodities view showing how many you need of a commodity based on a pinned to-do list (i.e. we can pin one claim at any one time, or just opt to pin all together). I'd also like a "hide completed" toggle... the list is difficult to read when it's split up with loads of 0 rows, I don't need to know about.

I upgraded the paper to a having a clipboard. And by paper I mean an envelope. Now I got some cartridge paper and a mixture of different ply for my asmr ruffling papper needs 🤦🏻‍♂️

I found the UI stuff just like Tuesday/Wednesday, I’m already addicted to the ruffling noises of paper
Bonus method: everybody looks so much more important with a clipboard.
Think I'll get one even though I don't need it.

I have successfully made a front-end data scaper using VBA in excel, that automatically accesses the journal files to obtain the actual construction requirements for each material of the build. It even presents purchases made from stations as well.

I'm working on making this more presentable, but currently I'm using it to 100% accurately track my build progress without me needing to hand-write anything! Let me know if you're interested and I'll keep you posted.

(If you're interested in how to go about adding it to your own sheets, I started to discuss the details on a Steam post,

Point is, all the information you need for your build according to the game is in your journal files. It's just a matter of knowing how to fish out the details to make your life's easier!

Have seen these shared (neither are my work):

https://cmdr-nowski.github.io/scuffed/

This first one is a little app that you can add the type of asset (little + sign next to the sign of the station). This will populate the text box on the left hand side. Click on it and the list of materials will be listed. It's fairly simple to figure out the basics.

The second one is a post which has a link in to make a copy of a google docs spreadsheet. The post has some good info in it too so I shared that rather than just the docs link.

ColorNote app on android phone. You can make checklist on it (shopping list).
I have also Apache Open Office spreadsheet on my laptop which is reading audiobook, but I have made it to deal with parallel construction of two settlements. I might stick to it since screen is larger and I can type faster on it.

First of all take a screenshot (F10) of the list from the system map.
Then, depending on what I am doing, either:
Create buy orders on my carrier for the correct amounts. Sell to the carrier until full.
Or I just open the screenshot and use that list on a second small monitor.
I just take a new screenshot every now and then.

Screenshot and MS paint on another monitor. Just grab the screenshot of whichever one I happen to be working on

Windows + Shift + s will let you take a cropped clip of a specific area.

I was origionally using the spreadsheet created by Daftmav but found it bit of a convoluted way of doing it and the numbers weren't always correct as FD would change them. Now I just use Snip to get the list from the system map and paste it in my word doc. I try to go through the list from top to bottom and note where I'm up to.

SRVSurvey has colonization tracking in built now. I've turned off all other functions as I use other 3rd party apps for planetary stuff... but if your running srvsurvey, when you land at the construction site, bring the app screen to front and click the BIG colonization button, it will ask you to create a new job. It will then keep track of everything your moving around, and tell you always what you need, it is also link to raven colonial website, that gives you a web based view that is saved and updated as your doing stuff, you can also link your fleet carrier to it on the webpage so it will track what your hauling in the carrier, telling what you need. Just have to remember when you create the job, to select the correct type of colonization job your doing.

I've finished all current builds, but this gives you an idea of the web interface.

Updated.... this is the SRVservey on an active build

I have been making a spreadsheet of each Asset type as I build them with the generic number of type and quantity of items needed. Print and use pencil and eraser so I can keep reusing them till they rip.
