How much would you pay for a DLC that had 20 - 34 habitat animals? (Like Zoo Tycoon 2 had)

I was thinking back to the good old days of Zoo Tycoon 2 and remembered back when expansion packs had tons of animals. I remember most expansion packs had 20 habitat animals while the Extinct Animals pack had a whopping 34 habitat species!!!! Just remembering that amazed me with how lucky we were back then to be given so much for our money. The expansion packs also included tons of plants, buildings and other objects too! I find it mindboggling how video games back then went the extra mile to give you your moneys worth.

Then I started to think about Planet Zoo... I began to fantasize about if Frontier made a DLC with 20 - 34 habitat species. I'm wondering if any of you guys would buy it? How much money would you be willing to pay? Do you think it might be possible that gamers today wouldn't be able to handle that much content? What are your thoughts on this?

So you think $20 - $30 would be enough to purchase 20 - 34 animal species? That'd be awesome, but I severely doubt Frontier would ever make it that cheap. (Just taking the DLCs into account).

I was an avid ZT2 player as well. This might be a hot take here- But I prefer how Frontier does their DLC in small, cheaper batches. In my opinion, it makes the game more affordable and accessible. I grew up in severe poverty. It took me until I was an adult basically to be able to afford most of the ZT2 expansions, so I torrented everything as a kid. If they had something like frontier has now, I could have more easily been able to get DLC for the game I love. (And saved my slow old computer from viruses).Im an adult now with adult money, but I still appreciate how affordable for me it is to buy dlc for Planet Zoo. I tend to buy the packs on release day, just to support frontier because I agree with what they are doing even if Im taking a break from the game. Plus the base game alone has SO much content, so I think its smart to have smaller dlcs.

Unless I just personally hate the roster, this seems fair.
Habitat animals:
$.50-1.50 per animal that doesn't need new animations (i.e. Masai Giraffe reskin would be $.50 effort and Hamadryas baboon would be $1.50 effort to give the mandrill a tail and new fur).
$2-3 per animal that needs significant modifications but not a whole new set of animations (i.e. takin, which could draw a lot from bison or other goats, but is pretty unique) or something requiring super detailed textures.
$5 per animal that requires completely different mechanics and/or animations (i.e. Sea Turtle, Secretary bird, Tree Kangaroo, Spider monkey)
$10 for Golden Lion Tamarin, Serval, and American Black Bear with color morphs because I want them so badly.

Exhibit animals:
I like the walkthrough exhibits, and I hope to see birds in them soon. maybe $5 per type (macaws, eagles, lorikeets) with 3-5 members. ~$2 for something like a Burrowing owl, which is cool but you can't really make more than 1
The smaller exhibit animals would generally be $.50, but I have a few favorites that I would value more.

Scenery:
$1-5 depending on the quality, usefulness, uniqueness, flexicolor, and presence of backstage props.

Obviously personal preferences (i.e. American Black Bear) and addressing holes (i.e. monkeys and the Middle East are lacking right now, which would bring the Hamadryas baboon up to $2-3) would affect the value to me, as well as how much I have to spend. My favorite packs would probably total around $15-20+.

I have been begging for a true expansion pack forever now. Say a bird expansion, aviaries, some ground birds, WE birds and other scenic stuff I will pay whatever.
A 20-30 habitat animal dlc: $50 tops
8 exhibit dlc: $15
Frontier I hope you are reading this!

Doubts on ever getting a expansion. Like it’s said in the past frontiers yearly dlc is equal to a expansion anyway. Especially with the introduction of animal packs all without the longer presumed wait for a expansion.

Figure out animal pack prices at an average of $1.25 USD per animal, including the exhibit animal. So roughly around $25 to $43 depending on the actual price of the pack. I'd probably go with 25 animals that would be $32.00

That would take into account the generalized average of amount of work:
3 or 4 Exhibit animals, roughly a third of the habitat animals being reskins/clones that require minor adjustments from rigs we have in the game, roughly a third of the habitat animals being similar animals that would require significant adjustments to existing rigs, and roughly a third of the animals requiring new rigs and being very work intensive to get into the game. Just as one example: Masai Giraffe/Saiga Antelope/Crested Porcupine.

I think you cant really compare ZT2 expansions to PZ to easily. Like a single animal in PZ prob has 2x the polygons of an entire ZT2 expanions roster :D. And the just have more to it, behaviour, animations, variations etc.
Where i am Planet zoo DLC are 10€, dividing that by 8 we get to 1,25 per animal (Counting exhibit the same as habitats for simplicity)
Then we would end up at about 25-42,5€ for 20-34 animals.
But Zoo tycoon 2s expansion didnt just include animals, they always had new mechanics, new scenario and challenges, and other items so a PZ version of that might easily get to 35-60€ depending on how much new stuff there is in additon to the animals.
So i dont know how many people will actually buy that.
A smarter way, in my opinion would be to sorta combine animal- and scenery packs in a 20€ pack including like 10 animals, scenery and some new mechanics and features

Here's how I'd divide it:

Scenery pack has 5 animals, animal pack has 8

Each pack is $10 (rounding)

So, if we get a scenery pack with ×4 the animals/pieces, I'd pay ×4 the $10 piece tag

If it is an actual expansión pack i would pay as much as i paid for the base game, maybe i bit less. But it should be something that other than animals it also introduces new mechanics, building pieces, foliage and/or rides. I'll be happy with a 20 to 25 animal roster. I could even settle with 15 lol
