How to switch a system to a different superpower? Just let it FD do it for you.

Supposedly, players aren't allowed to insert a faction of an allegiance that doesn't already exist in the system. Sometimes it even goes as far as being able to only choose the allegiance of the currently controlling faction.

So, it shouldn't happen but it does happen. Great.

However, there seem to be a couple of people within the team that haven't got the memo. If you're lucky enough to have them processing your request, boom, anything you wish for. Imperial faction 30 ly from Sol or Lave? Done, no problem! (those actually exist)

Codorain used to be an Empire system "near" Lave (including lore blurb). There are still two Empire systems that got flipped by Codorain Empire faction.
Not exactly sure if a Fed PMF got placed in there of if a PMF expanded into it.

BD-22 3447 apparently got an Alliance PMF inserted. I'm not aware that an other Alliance faction expand into that system before.

Buthas got an Empire PMF with the next Empire system being in the Codorain region.

(Yea, I wondered why AEDC didn't apply for a PMF near Ross 128 - thought you guys'n'gals are just fair players. Form DNA-Decays comment it looks like at least the thought came into your minds :) It was the first thing I thought when I noticed that PMF insertion.)

Actually, we didn't do it specifically because we wanted to do it the proper (and harder) way, thus making it a proper challenge -> achievement.

Would take away from the whole proving your merit part of the endeavour, right?

But yes, Codorain is legit. Bhutas is the insertion. Likewise for Sol, look at Bhritzameno.

Absolutely.

Sadly it shows how meaningless superpowers are in this game. No reaction from the Federation, no reaction from the Alliance.

Ehr, whatever. I like to pretend that it's just the rotten bureaucracy of the Federation to be blamed. Those tasked with getting information up the chain of command don't want to lose their benefits for taking responsibility and shove it under the rag and away from Papa Hudson's knowledge, still getting payed their fat military pay check as if nothing has happened.

But I do think some employees in FD did have a few drops of cold sweat roll when they found out about it, thinking "What am I supposed to make out of this now...".

There is always a way to RP around problems that result from FDs way to deal with the superpowers. I would just like not to have to do. I guess you would like some recognition for your actions too - even if it's the Alliance condemning the actions or some other not so glorious results.

(not sure about the "Ehr, whatever." part of your comment. I really think what AEDC achieved in Ross 128 was/is impressive and done in absolutely the right way. Using an inserted PMF would reduce the achievement.)

The "erh, whatever" part means I'll take the hands off approach over a hasty reaction which could ruin the whole event. Not only the expansion itself, but the next months of defence were quite great really. I'm ok with FD taking their time to think on it.

I'd like some recognition, sure, but someone could argue that getting a patch note directed mostly as us is exactly that. In terms of the story line, I really want it done properly, both the sake of the game's integrity, which is why we all complain because we love what the game can be, and for the sake of the effort of the players who worked alongside each other to make it happen.
