How would y'all feel about cobra Mk.IV for PS Odyssey pre-orders?

The thing is this doesn't bother collectors - they are so easy to abuse by companies and they don't see, that they make themselves vulnerable because of this habit.

I would rather say that we just would not give a flying whoopie if others would get Cobra IV, why on earth would we?

Most of us early players have a carrier and every ship already if any knowledge how to make money with mining, passengers, missions or now with combat.

It is not like I would feel I would lose anything if others would or could have what I have, especially as it is more than probable that they don´t have all that I have even after that.

I have access, and am unimpressed with it, so I don't know why either.
However, a CobraIV is in no way analogous to an Enzo, and I certainly don't care at all if someone else buys one.

I made this comparison because the Enzo Ferrari is a model which was just offered to a selected group of people - it couldn't be bought by everyone, just invitation only. And this is somewhat similar to the situation here.

Exclusive can be changed a bit, just make a station full of Cobra IV´s to be evacuated in Odyssey CG with stations engineered Cobra IV-stock only (taxi there on foot first) available.

If they are slightly engineered then i guess they are not "original Cobra IV".

Come on Fdev, give them the CobraV. Keep it identical to the IV except trade two of the Size 4 optionals for one size 5, or one of the size 4 for two sized 3 or something to that effect so you can call it a different ship. Should be easy. LOL.

Being able to buy an MK4 myself I wouldn't mind making it available for ALL players. I don't see what's the point just keeping it for Horizons pre orders. It's years after that and it is not such a special ship. If it had more jumprange it would make for a very good early exploration vessel maybe.

For 1 Billion Credits or more, I would surely buy a classic Cowell & MgRath Cobra Mk.III, like the "Bella Principessa," in the official Elite Dangerous books "Reclamation" and "Premonition," by CMDR Drew Wagar.

Let me start by saying that I have no oar in that boat, I'm a PC gamer, with cobra Mk.IV access, and I have no intention of moving to PS4/5, so it's not that I'm trying to envigo my way into Cobra Mk.IV access by creating a loophole through which I'd benefit. It's just that on PC we got the Cobra Mk.IV access as a reward for preordering horizons, on XB1 tehy got Cobra Mk.IV access for preordering the game, actually ordering it within a window after the launch date on that platform, yet Playstation CMDR's have NEVER been able to get a Cobra Mk.IV. While the Cobra Mk.IV isn't the gosh darned bestest ship in t'entire galaxy, infact it's a few "kylies" (thousands of lightyears) from it IMHO, it's NOT FAIR that an entire platform hasn't been able to access it. So, that brings me to the question, who would y'all feel if the Cobra Mk.IV was made available as an Odyssey pre-order reward, possibly alongside the pioneer suit skin, for PS CMDR's? I'd be cool with it, I'd like to hear your thoughts on this as an idea?

Sounds okay to me. I got a Cobra 4 and I couldnae give a monkey's whether anyone else has one. Making it preorder exclusive seems like a good compromise to any of the owners that actually does care

Personally I'm not a big fan of any of these artificially exclusive gifts. It's not why I funded the Kickstarter. I'd have preferred gift vouchers for the livery shop. I doubt if anyone's really interested in knowing if a pilot was there from the beginning

I suppose I should ask the questions since I don't believe any one else really has.

1. How many would be bothered if Fdev allowed anyone to buy the CobraIV now?
2. How many would be bothered if they opened it up short term just for the PS players that never had a shot at it?
3. How many would be bothered if they made access a CG reward or a tech broker unlock?

All I am really seeing is "free the CobraIV" and other players saying either, "Why would anyone even want it in the first place.", or "Fdev will never do it shut up about it already." I am not really seeing many say anything along the lines of "No you plebe, CobraIV is for us Horizons purchase window players only."

Lastly, would anyone be mad if Fdev put out a CobraV, and made it identical to the IV except maybe swapping around some optionals to make it seem different?

The reason for that argument not showing up much is that the ones who would use it are bored with this monthly attempt to make FDev go back on their word.

If they changed the appearance a little as well as rearranging/resizing slightly the internals so it doesn't quite duplicate the performance I would be fine with that.
Of course that wouldn't stop the worst of the I want a Cobra 4 crowd because it wouldn't be a Cobra 4.

I don’t think it’s “entitlement” to suggest that everyone should be granted access to it after five and a half years of exclusivity, or at least given the opportunity to get it by preordering. It’s certainly more magnanimous than the insistence that it should remain available only to those who purchased at the right time. If someone said “I should get it”, that would clearly be entitlement.

It’s just saying that it would be nice if everyone who wanted to could enjoy it now. Whether it will ever happen is another story entirely.

For those who own it and say it’s crappy, they’re entitled to their opinion, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s the best small multi-role ship in the game. Having said that, if Frontier created a new small ship that was just as good or a little better for multi-role purposes, that would settle the matter for me personally.

Not for me unless it was called a CM5 or something - my second Cmdr flies Cobra's exclusively! Unfortunately he's also not entitled to the CM4 unlike my first Cmdr who has never flown one due to not having been in the Bubble long enough..

Anyway, completely off-topic, but how come the Mamba and Krait are medium ships (in the original they were small)? We need a medium Cobra!

The qualifier here is that we think everyone should get access to it, particularly after the time that has passed. It’s an opinion recommending a benefit for all, not simply a personal benefit. If I were offered access to it for example, I would refuse if that didn’t include everyone else who purchases the game.
