Hunting with Chiggy....

C'mon Chiggy, you only need to scan another 50 odd systems ;)
Yah, but I'm hip deep in M and K class systems out on the edge ATM, might take a few more than 50...but here's #3999....

I squeezed a bit more out of it...just a hair shy of 99 LY max. I was afraid it might run a bit hot with the smaller overcharged power plant and changing several experimental effects from cooling effects to light weight, but I can land on Skardee 1 and never break 53% heat...at least as good as my DBX....View attachment 412573View attachment 412572
Now I don't feel so bad... I'm at 89 (see https://s.orbis.zone/qNbR) but that's with with SRV and a repair limpet...

Now I'm confused; heavier load but more range? What am I missing??
My guess is that you haven't manually edited your 5A SCO FSD to use 2077 tons optimal mass for the pre-engineered reward? Can be done if you click on the wrench icon as you would with engineering, look a little further for the Optimal Mass, click on that and add in the optimal mass number for your FSD if it diverges from the standard like the pre-engineered ones do.

Still confused; do I need to get back to an engineer and tweak the SCO there or can I increase while out in the black? Should I have pruchased pre-engineered then swapped out for a SCO?

(and sorry for thread jacking Chiggy!!!)

No worries! My SCO FSD is the one you "build" from the Thargoid bits...then added the mass manager secondary effect to it. It's quite a bit better than the "regular" SCO FSD. It also seems to be optimized quite a bit for use with the Mandalay I think? If using it when you load it onto the build sheet you have to tweak the numbers yourself as I guess the program hasn't been updated for it yet? I also carry a small rail gun (light weight with fuel slug secondary) but I didn't list it because it kept showing the weight as 2t when it's really 0.18t, and I couldn't edit that for some reason. After I realized all of my efforts at cooler running like my other builds had negligible effect, I light weighted everywhere possible and that is where I picked up almost another LY of range.
