Hi all
Now seriously considering the G2 to replace CV1.
(My beloved RiftS broke and amazon couldn't replace it so it had to get it refunded
. I am consequently using my old CV1 and I am struggling with the downgrade.)
The following HMDs are CURRENTLY on the debating table: Quest2, Vive Index and Reverb G2.
I have put the factors in order of importance (all important!):
Here are my thoughs on why I like the G2:
I was leaning on the Vive Index until I saw the review on the 0.5 resolution for the G2 and then the balance tipped in G2's favour.
I would appreciate any thoughts or other options
Thanks!

The following HMDs are CURRENTLY on the debating table: Quest2, Vive Index and Reverb G2.
I have put the factors in order of importance (all important!):
- Glasses and comfort
- Runs on my Ryzen 3600x and GTX 1070:
- Adjustable IPD
- FoV
- Sound
- Can do room scale (2x2m play area)
- Image upgrade
- Price
Here are my thoughs on why I like the G2:
- Glasses and comfort: MRTV - MIXED REALITY TV did the experiment and said the max glasses width, which fit his G2 was 14.5cm. My miss' glasses are a good cm less wide.
- Runs on my Ryzen 3600x and GTX 1070: you can set it to run at 0.5 resolution for older GPUs and it still looks better than RiftS and when I can afford the better GPU, I can switch it back up.
- Adjustable IPD: it has a slider
- FoV: MRTV reported a 12 degree improvement over RiftS. Even if his experiment was way off, it is clearly larger than RiftS
- Sound: is awesome
- Can do room scale (2x2m play area): is OK
- Image upgrade: even at 0.5 resolution the image looks better (less screen-door and higher Hz) than RiftS
- Price is: a little on the high side
