I can't find Jameson's crash site since installing Odyssey

I was there a month or so ago, in Odyssey. No issues

But had you already previously found and visited the site in Horizons? If you did, then you already had the POI in your nav computer and wouldn't have any issues. I messed up and installed Odyssey before I ever even visited it.

Well, this is fun. Went back to HIP 12099 1 B, entered orbit and tried to find the coordinates, and the game immediately crashed.....

:poop: happens server hiccups probably...............
if you really cant find it id be quite supprised tbh if i was i local id wing you down

I finally found it by manual coordinates. Still no POI. Doesn't even show up as being right in front of me. And there's no way in hell I'm going to try to find this manually every time. It took me over an hour of orbital flight to find it.

probably poi after time an relog if you have collected some mat the servers take time to sync up
you will probably have to find davs hope the same way fun fun fun:ROFLMAO:

guides in you tube give ground co ords in the comments why bother if you dont have to find it manually on a first time visit? eg
still you gotta do what you will i suppose if you think it will help
this is the guide for finding davs hope
so i think i may be right about manual locations finding for special locations on a first time visit no matter what version of the game your on
else why have a HUD ground co ordinates sysyem in the first place QED

It was there for me a month or so ago in Odyssey with an alt that had never played Horizons, Legacy or otherwise. Very strange.

There for me about 3 weeks ago, not booted Horizons in ... years. Since your game crashed when you got there/got close, maybe re-validate your files? Always just shows up in the panel when I get close enough to the planet. Not much help, sorry.

as per post 26 op has found it now but hes is not happy that it took him over an hour of orbital searching to do so...................
and that the poi did not show up instantly but as far as i can recall it dosent show up instantly on a first time visit but does on all consecutive visits tereafter if mem serves me correctly hes obviously not a fan of circum navigation using longitude & lattitude ground co ordinates🤷‍♂️

I just went there a couple days ago. It doesn't show until you're well within DSS range. I prefer to maintain a 6 second approach until I reach 20 Mm, then set throttle to zero. Most POI's show just before my ship reaches minimum SC speed (10-15 Mm). The 1000 LS thing is completely outdated, as is most info published before 2020.

Check dates on any information before relying on it. Ignoring that will obviously lead to frustration.

My experience suggests that the dss scanner / system info panel has some short term memory. Whenever I start the game and jump in a system, pois further than 1000 ls don't resolve instantly, but I have to approach to less than 1000ls. Upon further jumps into the same system in the same game session, I can find them in the system panel instantly.

Nope. I'm just going to completely uninstall ED and all DLC, then only re-install Horizons.

Yeah, unless you install Legacy Horizons, as far as I am aware Horizons is the exact same game but with player restriction on what you can access, so as long as you have Odyssey as part of your account data, well you have Odyssey.

Yeah, it's got issues for sure. I just described the method that worked for me on my newest commander. I've bookmarked the Jameson crash site, and now the Nav panel shows a bookmark icon next to every POI on the body. That may be why the crash site shows up consistently for me.

FWIW, I just flew to HIP 12099 with an alt that has never been there. I flew to body 1b, surfaced scanned it and got some POIs on it, among others one for Jameson crash site.

This seems to indicate that it's not a general problem, maybe worth talking to support to check your game save data. Maybe something's gone wrong with your save.

Don't think I'll try to go back to verify that it still shows in the future too, but since I've landed I'm gonna do the site once and then go do something else.

I'm under the impression the Longitudes and Latitudes all changed when the live/legacy split sorta "re-eolled" the entire galaxy. I wouldn't trust any coordinates more than 3-4 years old, just in case.
(I don't remember when the split occurred)
