I can't find Jameson's crash site since installing Odyssey

FWIW, I just flew to HIP 12099 with an alt that has never been there. I flew to body 1b, surfaced scanned it and got some POIs on it, among others one for Jameson crash site.

This seems to indicate that it's not a general problem, maybe worth talking to support to check your game save data. Maybe something's gone wrong with your save.

Don't think I'll try to go back to verify that it still shows in the future too, but since I've landed I'm gonna do the site once and then go do something else.
Could you post the current coordinates of the site, for the benefit of all who are willing to go there (yes I know, FSS/DSS will show the place, but anyway), please?

same place its always been id wager a rep
CMDR Jameson's fate remained a mystery for decades. The crash site of his Cobra was finally located by CMDR Robbie Junior on November 25, 3303, at the coordinates -54.3, -50.3 on HIP 12099 1 B.
of course even the earth will flip over given time

Are these Legacy or Live coordinates?
Just trying to lessen the confusion, not add to it...

I'll stop by tonight to verify the exact coordinates. I should be there within 6 hours, if I don't forget. I've still got to get through ~5 hours at work.

FWIW, I was daytime too!

A pity that the logs stop playing when you exit the messaging menu. I wanted to sit on top of the cobra, listening to what he had to say, and watch the landscape.

Thank you, everyone, for the help. It shows up as a POI for me now, but finding it the first time definitely was not an enjoyable experience. One more quick question if you don't mind. Can I scan this site on foot rather than having to use my SRV? The controls for the SRV are too wonky. I'd rather do it on foot.

Memory tells me that you have to scan the beacons from your SRV. There is a place where you can park and scan all four beacons without moving. I have just arrived in orbit and a scan revealed the crash site.

Landed, scanned and left.

I was hoping that wasn't the case. The controls for the SRV are god-awful.

No, they're not. There's a learning curve there too though.
A couple of tips:
-"drive assist" OFF !!!
-the throttle shouldn't be used as on/off button
-handbrake is useful

I have the default controls. Q and E for throttle. A and D for steering. I'd much rather have W and S for throttle, and steer it with the mouse, just like ship controls.

i have no problem either using an x box controller i haz configed the analogue triggers as accel & break/rev cause they auto zero when not on the gas so to speak just like a car
and you can apply a little gas or a lot
kbm for on foot no question except no substitute
hotas or gamepad for the ship & srv
voice attack should be fitted as standard with a self designed or designer voicepack from hss
thats just my opinion

Perhaps, but I am set in my ways. I use keyboard/mouse for everything, even driving games like Forza. I'll find a way to make it work halfway decent.
