I experience my first stream snipe.

I don’t stream myself but yesterday I decided to help out one of the new guys in the game, he only been playing for three days now and he is working towards to get his first Vulture. I was looking for PvP around Eravate, but yesterday it was one of those slow days, so I decided to help out the new guys at a Hazardous RES. We winged up, however, my mic wasn’t working as intended so we didn’t have a great line of communication but I stayed close to him just in case he ran into trouble. Right off the bat, He attacked a wanted Annie (NPC) in a wing of FOUR CLIPPERS  , right then I knew it was going to be a bumpy ride and this guy was insane, at that point I didn’t know if our friendship was going to last that long. His shields dropped in two seconds luckily for him he had a DBS and he already knew how to use silent running, somehow we managed to kill the wanted Anaconda and I barely survived with any hulls left. We reloaded, I changed myFDL loadout from all rails silent running, to all fixed laser for PVE. We jumped back into the fight not even five minutes passed by, I see him losing his shields and hull in matter of seconds, I turned around to help him and then I saw that famous black paint pirate looking no shields Clipper, at first my brain didn’t register what was happening I actually thought that NPCs got a recent buff and were using silent running, I gave chase to try stop the attack but at the end it was not enough to stop that famous target destroyed, he died under my watch I was responsible for it. Finally, he turned around to face me and right then I realized it was a player with black sails, I was disappointed because I know that player been around long enough to know where the real challenge is at. There are many player groups out there ready for any challenge any given time, just in case he happens to read my post let me help you with that, SDC, TOC, AA, BIG, CONTRAIL, BBFA, GDA, CODE, 51th, RoA, Ghost ,Riddick, Rambo and many more. I wonder what he gets out of it for killing newbies? I will never know

To put it bluntly; greifers.
They want to feel good about themselves by killing N00Bs when they dare to play in open.
That's why I didn't get into open play until I could hold my own in PVP.
It still sucks you ran across one of the people that does it literally just for fun.

Add Black Collars to this list man!

They are also the same.

Yesterday i got in a similar thing.
Except the interdictor, it was an NPC.

My buddy jumped early then i did and i got interdicted.
Later on i found out that i'm in the middle of 3 clippers.

My friend got interdicted after he jumped twice to the adjacent systems.
My eyes were on the wing..
3 rings of shields became 2-1 and they were gone!
Hull rapidly reducing to 20% and then they stopped.
I thought somehow he managed to escape boosting as i told him to.

I killed those 3 clippers with my Python! It was not easy and immediately i locked on my friend and started jumping system by system
I dropped the same system, luckily he was right in front of me.
It didn't take long to enter the same instance with him. He's still at 20% hull.

Nav-Lock worked, the moment i entered normal space i saw him destroyed.

I feel that empty feeling right inside of me!
The feeling of a failure and that sadness of a newbie died because of me!
But he got too far, which was a bad idea.

I believe that he doesn't even know the unfotrtunatly he got interdicted by the fastest ship in this game.

I have never streamed but i have watched a lot of streams and one thing i have learned is that if you stream you will get sniped. 10 viewers or 30 000 viewers it will happen if you play multiplayer game. So if you stream, you have to accept it. There is nothing that you can do to prevent it. There is no mp game that doesn't have stream sniping. As sad it is you have to deal with it or stop streaming. Hopefully you will never face large amount of it.

Really good story. You know what is like to lose a newbie in your arms. Anyways, sorry my ignorance but what is black collars? player group.

apparently he is been playing only for a few days and already been sniped three or four times.

If true, I'm suddenly much more interested in streaming than I used to be. I could use the excitement!

Stream sniping is nothing new it happens with every game.

Hearthstone, Starcraft, Smite, Dota, etc. etc.

Some games like Starcraft and Hearthstone you can counter it with a stream delay other games like Mobas and open world games like say the survival games or ED you don't got much of an option aside from don't stream if you don't want to be sniped.
