I really need help with this, I have the elite dangerous launcher on my steam library yet I can't buy odyssey

I recently did the console profile copy/transfer and now installed the game launcher to my computer. Then I put it on my steam account's library and let the rest of the game download. After that I go and try to buy odyssey on the steam, and it doesn't let me because I "don't own" elite dangerous. Keep in mind that I say elite dangerous launcher because that's the only thing of ED on my computer. After you open said launcher you wait for the game itself to install.

That's weird, the launcher hooks me up right into my account after opening it on steam. I even connected my freaking frontier account to my steam profile. Why doesn't it work? Can anyone help me with this? I don't want to buy another copy of elite dangerous.

(If you're wondering why I'm doing this on steam it's for convenience reasons and also because of the recent sale)

how to purchase steam oddy to share name and assets with your recently transferred console account
(I would have thought as long as same purchase e mail and password loggin are identical...……. accounts would auto merge 🤷‍♂️ )
my advice purchase odyssey direct from fd thus avoiding the requirement of must use steam to launch the game
which is dead handy when steam logins fail due to steam client issues...………….. so you can play when steam cmd'rs cannot (which always seems to happen if it does happen during any planned playtime or around major updates so unlucky for them :mad:
