"I remember when..."

"Seeking Luxuries" @ Tenche

made me enough to upgrade from a type 6 to an ASP explorer (back in the day when 5m was a serious amount of money)

I still remember when that place where Marty and his crazy “doc” friend hung out was called Twin Pines Mall.......

I remember lining up with the slot at 10km, turning off everything but the essentials, silent running, thrusters off and docking before anyone notices anything to smuggle stuff.

..Robigo had only an outpost.

..silent running db scout was a serious pvp ship.

..silent running FAS was s serious pvp ship.

..when Colonia was not Colonia, and when i docked to Jaques, it was the only station in the area.

..the Gnosis.

..the first barnacle site discovered.

..Salome.

..the precious gems.

..the first Sothis gold rush, before even Robigo.

..when i bought my Python and its initial trade runs, i didnt fill its cargo hold, in order to have a rebuy.

..that i missed the Hutton cg for the mug. But went alone afterwards.

I remember when Thargoids were a real threat that could pull you out of hyperspace anytime, having a fight with them, on a Sunday morning lasting over 3 hours with pirates joining in fighting against me at the same time and my mother threatening me to pull the fuse if I won‘t come for lunch.

I remember when 30 yrs. later I drew a little map of the first few systems that were available for the backers before official release of ED, just like I did it in 1984 - knowing that it will be a useless activity soon, but the excitement, the awe... just flying a Cobra again.

Yesterday I landed on a planet in Beta, full of Space Pumpkins, vibrant colored ground connecting them with bloodlines, as it seemed and all under a thick layer of fog, but almost more an atmosphere. The sound department gave the SRV scanner an unholy upgrade, when you scan these pumpkins, it‘s almost as they would talk, really scary. Another moment to remember, I thought and flew to an awesome Lagrange cloud with remarkable crystals and unnamed organisms in it, and so my memory is filled continuously along my years of flying in Elite... I do not want this to end, ever. It will eventually, but then give us the next version, pls.

Thank you FD.

I remember when the twin NPC pilots Cob and Cod were the deadliest things other than Snuffler and Exaga.

I remember when Zaphodbeeble and his brother blockaded Freeport demanding gold.

I remember 'seeking weapons' drop points.

I remember capships mating.

I remember when assassination missions involved dropping into every random USS that popped up in case the target was in there and it was a race to find them before the timer expired. Wow, the game is so much better now, it's not even funny.
