I think I've discovered (in my case at least) one of the causes of corrupted saves.

I had another case of a corrupted save, or an infinite loading save, recently. This is the second time it has happened to me, and it's very frustrating to say the least. But I think I may have found a cause, or at least something that's related to a cause. In both cases when loading the last working save before the corrupted one, I would find that all the baby animals of the zoo had somehow ended up in the trade centre. This time, after playing around for a while and trying to find a solution I discovered that the last working save keeps working perfectly as long as I keep those animals in the trade centre. I can keep playing and create new saves and they work too. But the moment I move even one of the babies to their habitat all subsequent saves made after that event become corrupted and don't load. Since there is no way to get rid of baby animals, and the trade centre is now overloaded with something like 90/30 animals, I can't adopt any new animals to the zoo, so in a way the zoo is still dead in terms of expansion. However, for the purposes of saving and loading the game works.

I wanted to post this here in hopes of helping the devs maybe understand what's happening and fixing this bug, but also to see if anyone else with corrupted saves has noticed the same thing. I'm not opening an issue in the tracker, because it might be something just specific to me, or very rare, and I don't want to overload it. But hopefully the devs can see it here or it can be relayed to them.

If you put the babies in their own habitat (not their parents) does the issue still happen? What about if you put them in Quarantine first?

Those are good questions. I haven't tried them. I got tired after a while and just left it. I'll give those tests a go and report back.

So as an update, I tried moving the baby animals to the quarantine and to a new habitat built just for them, but unfortunately (and as I suspected) this also didn't work and broke the subsequent save.

You could open a new Zoo for them and release them to the Wild when they grow up. You could also just close this Zoo after importing all of juvenile Animals but I don't know if you also get CC for juvenile Animals if you close the Zoo

I always end up with babies in my Animal Market, Im guessing it is when I multi select animals to release to the wild, although im careful not to select babies they still end up in there, Im suspicious they are corrupted adult animals, however its never caused an issue with my save file if I send them back to the same enclosure
