I want to play elite dangerour on playstation vr now!

I have a good pc that runs well elite dangerous, but a rift glasses here in Brazil costs the same as buying a car, will it be worth spending so much for a game?

It depends. I'm in the UK and I bought my car (a 2003 Ford Focus, in good nick), off a friend for £500. I've probably spent over £700 on my Rift so far. My PC that runs it cost about £1500. So I've spent 4 times what I've spent on my car, on my PC and VR kit.

The car is pretty decent and it gets me from A to B, keeps the rain off my head and warm in winter. It's not new or super fast, but it suits my requirements. It does seem kind of crazy that a big chunk of metal, glass and engineering cost me the same as my Rift pre-order, but there it is. There are kids walking round with mobile phones that cost more than my car. How do we assign value and importance to things in our lives? Is my car more important to me than my Rift? Yes. There are many things more important to me than my Rift, and many cost far less or nothing at all. Only you as an individual can decide what is of value to you and the price you are willing to pay for it.

very good, I loved your answer, I also think the same way, after all that is why we work in this system, to feed our consumerism, and really every thing has its value, so I regret having abandoned my pc to venture into playstation, it was better to have invested everything I spent on my pc. Bittersweet life, sometimes the agent has to learn from our mistakes.

Thank you for your nice reply.

Feeding our consumerism is just another choice, if you're lucky enough to live in a system that permits you the freedom to live how you want to. You don't have to spend your money surrounding yourself with stuff. Some people like to surround themselves with more and better stuff because they feel it's a measure of their success in life; for others it's just a means to make their lives a bit more comfortable. You could instead spend the money on lessons and learn to play an instrument or study maths and physics, which might bring you even greater joy and personal satisfaction. Of course it is hard to make those alternate choices when we are bombarded in our lives with advertising and media telling us that we need to buy this that and the other, and expensive executive cars in order that we can feel good about ourselves. Our goals of personal attainment are all too often tied in with our consumer spending power.

Do I buy a PC or a Playstation? That's a nice dilemma to have in life isn't it? Sometimes when I'm playing this game and the random luck nature of it constantly goes against me, it feels like I must be cursed with bad luck. Then I think, I'm sitting in a comfortable apartment spending leisure time playing computer games in VR. In context with the rest of the world, I think that makes me pretty lucky indeed.

Anyway, I shall stop waxing philosophical there, as I've got bounties to take down and a crewman to train up. Those millions don't earn themselves you know!
