If I wanted a 'radio-tuning' game I would have rather bought an old radio.

Must be because it spawned from your and your brain alone.

A sensible chap would have figured that holding a button while flying to scoop fuel doesn't interfere with the journey, especially because it was explicitly stated in the post you quoted.

Taking a parting shot, misrepresenting a post you quote is really bad form Ian. I wish I could say I didn't expect that from you.

You literally claimed something was less repetitive because it 'didnt even register'. That is comically absurd, and I can point that out if I want. But sure, start the personal insults again. We've made it past the first ten pages so it is time for that I guess.

No idea how, but these topics about the FSS become dafter each time. We've now reached the point were we are claiming pressing one button, something so repetitive that we readily admit we don't even register we are doing it, is somehow not as repetitive as the FSS. Why even bother. Just say you dont like the FSS, keep the insults at the door and leave it at that man. :/

Personally, as a nearly total gimbal user at the time and someone who hadn't been able to hit a planet with a fixed weapon when I first started playing, I tried it and found the change to be so minimal that it was frankly not noticeable to me. But then I thought I'd try out a some fixed weaponry again, just to see what would happen. Surprisingly I found that I was actually able to be reasonably effective with them (probably down to using a more accurate flight stick), and nowadays most of my ships have a mix of fixed and gimballed weapons.

My preference for turreted weapons is not because of a lack of skill with fixed weapons. To quote Matthew Quigley, "I said I never had much use for one. Never said I didn't know how to use it."

Take it up with xondk Iany Wiany

Both requite the honk input. One requires an additional repetitive mini game.

Repetitive does not state the actions per time unit. It states the actions to achieve something. "involving doing or saying the same thing several times"

That's not how the dictionary works SkippyWippy.

How is the mini game repetitive when every system you go into is different there for giving you a different experience every time you use the FSS?

[haha] Credit where credit's due. That was funny!

It's no different to flying your ship. You use the same controls every time, but somehow it doesn't get repetitive. Everytime I drive my car, I control it the same way every time, but it does not get repetitive. Everytime I ride my bike, I control it the same way, brakes, steering etc, but it does not get repetitive. For me the FSS is the same.

Not to sure why you are laughing to be honest.

Yes, I think I'll play 10,000 games of tetris, because it will be a different experience every time. :D

People do exactly that. What's your problem with that?

In ED you do stuff inbetween using the FSS. Tetris you don't. Not really a comparable anology is it.

I have already come up with three that are comparable though.

Absolutely. I wasn't suggesting your reasons for not using them were skill related, I was suggesting mine were. :D Just saying I'm happy you have the choice to use whatever you want and that I would defend that choice. :)

I've played 10,000 games of "dock the ship", and it usually is the same experience, more or less....

Of course. This entire new argument of repetitiveness is nonsense on every level. Heck, Ziggy has >1.3 BILLION credits in explo credits before 3.3 launched. Think about how many times he has pressed the honk button, how much time he spend in SC flying in a straight line, how much time he spend waiting while watching the witchspace loading screen and waiting while resolving the DSS scan. We're literally talking hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of hours doing absolutely nothing. And I mean absolutely, 100% completely nothing. For hundreds of hours it mattered nothing whether he was blindfolded or not. Which is also completely fine. But 'the FSS is repetitive' isnt much of an argument when doing nothing for hundreds of hours is your background and you decided it was fun enough to do for thousands of hours.

As always, simple naked truth always works better than convoluted nonsense. Just say:"I dont personally like the FSS.". That is perfectly fine feedback, and FD can chalk one up. The FSS is mandatory, and if you dont like the mini-game for whatever reason that would be a big issue for an explorer. I hope FD takes notice, and there are multiple ways to accommodate him and others. But I pity the intern that has to crawl through this garbage and report back on what the community thinks constitutes logical arguments. :p The issue with the FSS is not that it is repetitive. Ziggy has had no issue with far more repetitive stuff for thousands of hours. He doesnt like the FSS and would like a way to not have to use it (edit: less), thats all.

You. Take. That. Back!

I may be a mostly mediocre pilot, but I have my very own spaceship, and I do many very important things with it!

Ok, since you're determined to continue to make the discussion about me, some misconceptions.

1. Ziggy doesn't like the FSS. That is wrong, and I have repeatedly said so, to you as well. I don't like the frequency which I have to use the FSS. Accoording to me, for a mini game, the FSS is perfectly fitted to investigate systems which you have deemed worthy of investigation.
2. Because Ziggy did repetitive stuff before, the statement he made cannot be true. That is wrong, because I was comparing 2 explicitly stated situations. Neither of which is related to my 1.3 BILLION pre 3.3, spending time in SC, watching loading screens, resolving DSS scans.
3. Ziggy cannot complain about the new system, because he did those things. Well, Ziggy also explicitly stated those things needed improving upon. Ziggy has the ability to not like an old thing, while also not liking one single missing element from the new thing.
4. Let Ziggy speak for Ziggy. I would appreciate you not misrepresenting everything I say. Stop paraphrasing me dishonestly. What I have stated can be quoted. If you have a point to make, make it without me. Next time I will report you.

I like Happy Zig better. SternseriousZig is scary and unsettles my view of Pretend Spaceman reality, and I'm glad he doesn't make regular appearances. ;___;

For someone who likes sticking tacks in other people's chairs, you sure do run to the teacher a lot. I'm still recovering from being partially erased from the time line...
I don't like to be misrepresented, don't do it to others.

Otherwise I can take what I dish out.
