As to my opinion...

Is repeating the EXACT same thing 18 times a good game mechanic or not that will take you 20 hours - a resounding and factual no.

You then reply "But don't do it all at once!" which sounds ridiculous because nobody is talking about that and in fact, we want the Devs to experience this for themselves as they think it's that good. So when you say that I'm talking opinion, I can't believe you because you've been so wrong in this thread it's clear you don't know what you're talking about so how can you then tell me I'm not talking facts?

You are falling behind, after I unlocked one of the eighteen (making me more a lot more knowledgeable than most of the thread) the threads decided only eight of them actually count anymore for reasons. So congratulations I've cut the "grind" by more than 50% for you by unlocking just the one.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, getting into who's allowed what opinions will just get silly or circular.

I've done one of the human ones and I'm going to do one of the guardian ones, but I don't see the need to do them all. Or any beyond the specific unlocks of things I want. This is probably a significant factor in me thinking it's not such a big deal as the approach I take is do what parts of it I want when and if I want. Rather than go at it all in a big grind.

Here's two of the first three posts....

From what I can see of the new Guardian weapons, they require 18 weapon blueprints.
With the "fix" introduced by ED, I see that we now get a whole 1 material per run through of the Weapon Blueprint unlock.
Implications are very easy, please player, go REPEAT this section another 18 times.

I get that Elite has a degree of grind in it, after all that's how you get to Elite. But 18 more times, of the same thing.

Are you trying to say "go forth and play DCS my young padawan".

Unless I am completely mistaken, it's actually random as to whether you will get a weapon blueprint or a module blueprint on completion. That means you will need to complete it significantly more times than 18.

DCS sounds like a good option...





Someone will no doubt tell you that the "intended" way to play, is to complete the site, and then fly off to another site. [haha]

I think Ant is slightly wrong, I think that the blueprint you get seems to always be the same per site. I think its the obelisk data thats randomised.

Perhaps, the people from my clan figured out, that only the structures with the layout from HD 63154 give the module blueprint, all the others give the weapon blueprint. And only that specific blueprint.

Yes but the people in this thread said I was wrong for giving 18 as the total number after I unlocked one of the 18, they think only the 8 blueprints that require guardian mats and data count anymore.

Its entirely possible they only said that to dismiss the unlock I was talking about having done, however I intend to now run with their new revised numbers.

I just parked after an extended Thargoid blasting session, with my one guardian unlocked weapon in a part engineered medium ship.
