IF Space Legs, Atmospheric Planets and Base Building are not part of New Era...

If none of the three are in there, then we're probably looking at a complete re-write of the game from the ground up. However, do you see many of the existing players sticking around if at least one of these items arn't implemented.

I would definitely not leave over any of those 3 not happening. Legs and base building I have so little interest in, they might actually make me leave if they are too integrated into what we already have (an amazing place to fly a spaceship).

Like I said, as long as I have my Cobra and a galaxy to fly it in, I'm here.

True, but 1.1 was basically just increasing the route plotter from 100 to 1000ly. Imagine Frontier would sell that as an update these days... :D

PS
And CGs. I remember how people hated those though.

We recently had an update where the only new feature was throttle arrows. I'll take the CG's. :)

Didn't check them all, but newsletter 72 was released a few weeks before the Powerplay Beta.

In the meantime the entire Beyond content was revealed like one year in advance... 🤷‍♂️

Newsletter 91: 18 Sep 2015 - Elite Dangerous: Horizons release 15 December 2015 - 12 weeks
Newsletter 72: 23 April 2015 - Powerplay release 5 June 2015 - 6 weeks
Newsletter 57: 9 January 2015 - Wings release 10 March 2015 2015 - 8 weeks

The entire Beyond content was not revealed a year in advance, the two 'smaller' content updates had no details at all

The beyond communication bombed so badly that Frontier gave up trying to communicate the roadmap at all.

Not just the 2 small updates, also the last update 3.3 nobody knew what was it going to be exactly beyond "exploration and mining things" (not even FD who probably started working on "exploration" a few weeks before the beta), or the FSS/ADS wars would have started long, long before they actually did. I actually believed right until the reveal livestream we would finally see new exploration content and gameplay, rather than just a new side-game to achieve the very little we already had.

I see that you aren't applying the same standards to your and my arguments. That makes discussion pointless because it's not about facts but about you wanting to be right.

Newsletter 91 on the other hand already had all the details (including the delay!) about Horizons. Oh wait, that's not how it was.

Or Newsletter 72 (23.04.2015) which arrived just a few weeks before the 1.3 beta (26.05.2015). Oh wait, that's what I said.

Of course nobody was surprised about CQC and Powerplay because they already communicated that before Kickstarter and everyone was happy. Well that's not how I remember 2015 at all, but if people need to fabricate random nonsense to compare how much worse Frontier is now compared to some imaginary stuff in 2015, who am I to argue against that?

Yeah, I can't see myself paying money to basically play the same game.

The January update was announced in October... ;)
And it's a fair chance that what's coming at the end of the year was alluded to in 2012 :)

The quality and quantity of Frontier's communication has degraded. It's self evident. The most interesting news this month is Paige's departure. This is clearly the way Frontier want it to be, they want to make a splash when they can get some media attention. Makes sense from their point of view, but it's a bit meh from my point of view.

Hard reset, dedicated servers (PvE, PvP, Savage), stingy rewards, weaker shields, shorter FSD range, no rank/progress locked stuff. 900t Anaconda.

One problem with it being some kind of FPS thing is that there is so much competition there. You can't reasonably expect them to do that better than anyone else. So I'm thinking space legs would be less about bringing a competitive (with other titles) FPS and more about tying that gameplay into the existing space-sim to breathe new life into it as well as possibly refreshing/expanding on the existing space sim.

Whatever it is, I really feel like they can't just bolt it on to the existing game with little in the way of improvement to the existing game or it will hurt how it is received. Or this new gameplay would have to be so good that it would almost supersede the existing game which seems kind of far-fetched and ridiculous.
