If you could only have ONE ship.......

I would feel restricted in anything less than an anaconda. In the perfect actual world of multiple ships, I don't need it that bad. In a one ship world, there can be only it.

OP has stated in his post title '............ONLY ONE SHIP'

So why are cmdrs offering one for Mining, one for combat, one for trading, one for combat etc etc!!

One ship means surely just ONE Ship????

OP has also named two ships in his opening post ;-)

information wants to be free!

One ship to rule them all. Anaconda. If we have to leave the bubble, who cares about landing at outposts, we'll all be sleeping rough on planets.

I named two in my post, but only to say that since buying and engineering a DBX, all the others in my fleet are sat in dock gathering dust.

This is, in a way, a cruel and gruesome question.
At first glance it seems like a difficult choice.

But the answer is actually truly easy...
The Python! [yesnod]

I don't want to be on the forums when falcon delacy stops python's production, and insurance stops giving them back...
Even though I'd just want to see your world burn

The thing is, once you Grade 5 all in there and achieve more than 35% DD, it becomes Jack of all trades. Period.

This is very true IMO. I have G5 everything except for G3 DD drives and G3 shield boosters (refuse to unlock those engineers...), and I love the overall performance of my Python now. But...

When I picked the Python originally I was thinking of general overall usefulness as well as where I could land it. Then I went back and re-read the OP's post and saw the 'getting pushed out into the black' part. OK, if landing pad size no longer part of the equation, then I'll pick...the Python. Again.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Corvette and spend the most time in that ship, but it's not built for long range stuff. I still hate the conda for it's lousy handling and just can't see myself ever owning one again. I've never owned a Cutter, but I've read here on the forums it's even worse than the conda in this regard. Sure is pretty though.

So I'm back to my trusty Python. :D

What about extra modules, though?

I mean, my AspX is currently a nice little gunboat but with a bit of fettling it can become a full-on explorer, a decent mining ship or a half-decent cargo ship.

It's still just one ship, right? [where is it]

because as i said, it wont matter if humanity is driven from the bubble which you would LIKE it will be what you are FLYING when it happens that counts. so they are all spinning pipe dreams recognising that.

Great, so I'll likely get caught flying my Corvette. Well, in that case I won't be getting very far, very fast, but I can at least defend myself well (hopefully, as who knows what the aliens will bring) as I poke along. :D

If I could only take one ship it would have to be the Python because it can do anything but that would also make me sad because it's mediocre at everything.

Just as the OP has only managed to whittle his fleet down to 2 ships, I'd rather take the Corvette AND the 60LY DBX. The Corvette does everything it can do much better than the Python and the DBX handles the large jumps and outposts that the Corvette can't. Plus, with the unknown nature of the Thargoids, I'd rather be in my strongest ship in case it turns out to be a war.

What if we could carry a slightly smaller version of the Cobra MKIII in our Corvette? Things that make you go hmmmm... ;)

Why smaller? You can pretty much dock 2 Pythons onto a Corvette, let alone a Cobra 3 [big grin]

Edit: More specific information:
Cobra Mk3 = 27m lenght, 44m width.
Corvette = 168m lenght, 87m width.
