If I were trying to be serious, maybe something like Elite 3301: Enrollment, followed by expansion 3302: Horizons. Elite: Dangerous is fine though; it kind of has a nice and cheesy retro ring to it.

...and I would have set back the clock to the original game's timeline and did it as a reboot instead of a sequel. Then we could have read about the exploits of CMDR Jameson and Alex Ryder in our Galnet feed.
