IGN give 4.8/10

IGN Spain seems to disagree.

They gave it an 8.5/10.

IGN have been known for giving negative reviews if they didn't get payed enough. On metacritic this is the ONLY truly negative review (Granted there are only 12 at the time of this posting).

Either I'm blind or there isn't a way to edit my post.

PC Gamer, who I trust waaaay more than IGN, seems to be more fair.

I noticed the same thing, the other metacritic reviews are all mid eighties.
Yet none of them noted the flaws that BestinSlot talked about. Gamestar wrote "great AI", Bestinslot said "AI is kinda shallow". IGN might be too harsh but the 80s+ reviews are just hype reviews.

Maybe on Metacritic but Rock paper shotgun said the same and, more importantly, BestinSlots review doesn't sound good either. He was the only one to find out that the animals have a radius around them which determines their enclosure needs.

I watched his review and it wasn't that bad. He says the game has issues and probably needed a little more time in development. IGN's review is just garbage. But what do you expect from a garbage company like IGN?

I believe the radius issue is a simple fix. Just expand the radius a bit.

Probably cause they know these issues will be ironed out over time. They probably have common sense, something a lot of people are lacking these days.

We will see, BIS review sounded to me like IGN was closer than all the other 80s ratings.

lol so BIS has no common sense aswell if he said the opposite of what gamestar said?

In sandbox mode you are still achieving something. Take Minecraft creative mode for example - nothing to unlock, everything is unlocked for you, but when you are building something, you are working towards getting that build completed. When you are done and happy with your build, you have achieved something. Zoo Tycoon 2 is another example - not very many people play the challenge mode. The free mode has everything unlocked and unlimited money, yet you still have a goal - you want to build the nicest looking park possible and get that five star rating from your guests.

Then don’t buy it!?!?! Simples

Anyway I suspect that Steam reviews will get bombarded with negative reviews from people who are mad cause the game didn't have the 40,000 unique animations for each Dinosaur in the game.

BestInSlot played the game for over 30 hours. To me that says the game is pretty good. There is no way in hell that he played a game that long with it being a 4.8/10 10 or mediocre at best or whatever garbage Rock paper Shotgun said.

That could have even already been fixed. He had the game for 2 weeks, and we know there have been changes and updates since then.

BIS didn't trash the game the way IGN did or say it was mediocre. BIS played the game for over 30 hours. Does that sound like a terrible game? I can generally find out if a game will be terrible in 2 hours (just enough time to get a Steam refund). I refunded PUBG, which was a terrible game in exactly 2 hours.

I like best in slot, but I think he was expecting a bit more than what was promised. People were getting their expectations up a bit too high. As well he played a 2 week old build. After watching his play-though and his review It is weird since he basically seemed to contradict himself in the review.

I knew after 20 mintues how bad that game was.

I didn't say that he thrashed it, but the way he talked it simply sounded like a mediocre game without the bonus of being a JP game after so many years. The simple fact that so many reviews didn't mention so obvious flaws as he did tells me, that all those 80+ ratings are as useless as the IGN "hate rating". There is a CHANCE, that some things will be sorted out with the day one patch but don't be so sure about that, it is not like that patch suddenly makes everything alright. I guess BIS would've given the game 7/10 or maybe 6 if he wasn't such a huge fan of the franchise.

This clearly speaks very bad on what others were reviewing or how complete/accurate their review is.. isn't it?
