Oh my Python, is there anything you can't do?

- Launch a Fighter
- Sit in a CZ vacuuming money while you fix yourself a cup of tea
- Eat wings of (NPC) Anacondas for breakfast without losing a ring off your shields
- Haul 700 tons of Cargo
- Jump 60ly without Jumponium

Do I need to continue? :x

Get a small fast ship, fit it with engineered shock mines and long-range lasers, then go in open to the popular places for a bit of PvP. You get blown up all the time, but it doesn't cost anything, and it can be a lot of fun shooting at Corvettes from 6km, where they can't even see you. They're normally in gangs, so you can't win, but if you go in with the goal to stay as long as possible before you get blown up, it's very satisfying.

I love the game, but I feel like I keep losing excitement and things to keep my interest. I mostly do bounty hunting, but I've also done exploration, trading, passenger missions, and community goals. It feels very 'meh' after a while. I need a goal that's more exciting than "make a lot of money and get rich". Thoughts and ideas?

1) Join a player faction that does BGS... it will totally change your mind.
2) Mining... for me it is Zen experience... I do it a lot, and never get bored about it, because it is a mix of Exploration and Trading. (with RNG included, of course).

I find mining to be the most boring activity there is in Elite.

There are lots of things to do. I an going on a grand tour of the galaxy there are no games save space stations so managing the risk is the excitement. Finding the unusual or spectactular is the reward. I came back after a eight month break and its a different experience but I am enjoying it.

One thing that I am happy about is that having played the original and with only oolite to entertain in between that this version is going to be around a lot longer, so I am deep down happy that it can drift in and out of my life with something new from time to time. I have taken a different approch to this than any other game I have played.

Yeap take a break we will all be here happy to see you on your return!

Thanks for the replies everyone! It's given me some ideas for things to try. It's been a while since I did CQC so I'll give that a go.

Also, I had already taken a 6 month break from the game, so I needed a boost to get back into it.

Thanks for the replies everyone! It's given me some ideas for things to try. It's been a while since I did CQC so I'll give that a go.

Also, I had already taken a 6 month break from the game, so I needed a boost to get back into it.

I've heard that the official CQC Discord channel is pretty active and takes a little bit of the sting out of trying to find a match. Hope this helps ya.
