Remember this "Incoming massage" accept or decline?
Certainly do. Great video, bit difficult to replicate in game though

I don't think that, although I'm often wrong The disclosure of stuff moving out of pre-production was just a sweetener to offset disappointment of ice planets and Fleet carriers being cut. I don't see it as being indicative of Chapter 4 being a failure per se.
As for greater issues of trust - see how NMS went from 'Less than Zero' to 'Dev Gods' in one update, two years later.
People are fickle. Period.
Best not set your hopes on 'jam'. I don't think the 'promises' were that specific.

You're right in hindsight - which is my point. Before then there were death threats, talk of never playing the game or a Hello Games game again...But a good update later and it's all bunnies and flowers and amazeballs and those idiots threatening death and destruction are where? My point being that some people have more faces than the town hall clock and will quickly strike 12 when it suits them.
That's not to say this is doing Frontier any favours, as it clearly isn't - but perspective is useful.
Now replace empire with thurgoids,

Perhaps, separate updates, with detailed communications on each might be an idea?
Is Powerplay update canceled or delayed?
Has FD had their BGS attacked?
I do worry somewhat when FDev get "excited" about "new gameplay". I remember three years ago the "exciting" teasers about a "whole new method of interacting with the galaxy". We got Powerplay.
The Chinese take the control ?
Impossible in the future to criticize the central committee

Ian Bell hasn't been involved in the series as a developer since the original Elite game.
Yes in the original game, he was the co-author with David
Ian is also the creator of Elite
I think we should all chip in and get him one of these, for when he reports back to the Executive Leadership Team on "Community Reaction".
