In case you wonder why you get ganked in open

Yeah, people get upset when you invade their country and kill them.
Certainly they do, and I understood that even at the time. We were constrained by EOF and ROE, but our own behavioral norms were shaped by our environment, wherein those engaging us with deadly fire ceased to be members of the populace and instead became targets to be neutralized.

I suppose a similar mindset takes place in-game in environments like ED open - different rule-sets alter one's state of mind, wherein he will do things he normally would not.
But that's just a guess.
Actually, that time you were right - well done!

Pro-tip: stop projecting.

Amusing to be lectured on my in game behavior by someone who's literally killed people and doesn't have the self awareness to examine why.
Amazing, isn't it. I'm a bit lost for words, and those that do pop into my mind would probably result in me getting a ban, so I'll rather not say anything further on the matter.

...
It is only information for those that cannot understand why they get killed in open.
This forum really needs a "LOL" as well as "Like" reaction.

Rebuy for the rebuy god! It cares not from where the rebuy flows, only that it does!
You know, I've always thought this game would be less pandering if it just didn't have rebuys at all. It's hard for me to pretend to take it seriously without there being consequences for losing ships. This isn't a PVP vs. PVE issue so much though. There are probably many players in both groups who like having an easy and forgiving game.

To fly backwards at 600 ms, you have to fly forward at 800 ms, FA off then rotate - correct ?

That's the thing imho.

Unless you fly a ship like that (which requires hrs spent in game no matter how you do it) you have no business in open, or do you ?
Yes, that is how you do it.

Take solo/pg as training mode for open. once you can build a ship (opened engineers), you go to open and start learning the tactics. see what works and what doesn't, learn how to counter different things. than you get a hang of it and never look back.

Or do some one on one training with me to learn how to survive in open 👍
Yeah I kinda know, compromises, compromises, compromises, did some engineering on a Cutter for open back in the powerplay time. But, why on earth would I want to when modes exists? That way I can just fly "block mode" and when I am in the mood for PvP then... I fire up other games ;-)
