PvP In defense of murder (in game)

Do I really need to say that I meant a space pirate that doesn't even exist?

Also, you know that's not the reason why I think the OP isn't a bully, it doesn't even fit in your short sighted diccionary definition.

sorry, I'm correcting it now:
bully=no, because it's not comparable to actual bully
space pirate=yes, because it is comparable to space pirate that doesn't even exist

Let's just agree that we have no way of understanding eachother.

So, they stop inviting me to play with them. But why? It wasn't me, It was my character!

Probably because you were playing a cooperative game where all the PCs were members of the same party. Some PC vs. PC hostility, even the occasional violent confrontation, might be expected, tolerated, but characters that are not compatible with each other won't make for a sustainable party dynamic.

The ED equivalent to a party is a wing, not a mode. I wouldn't have my CMDR wing with someone I knew would be hostile (except as a means of confronting them), but getting bent out of shape because another player had their CMDR be hostile to your CMDR is little different than being angry at the GM in a tabletop RPG when they get killed by an NPC, or angry at another player for what their character does in a competitive scenario.

As for bullying, there is no bullying tolerated between players in my tabletop RPGs, but everyone expects a fair portion of those characters with in-game power to use it to get their way, and most players are are just as willing to have their PCs use the implication or show of force for the same purpose. The PC's patron might blackmail the PCs, or one PC might resort to a threat of force to keep another in-line in a pinch. The overwhelming majority of the time this isn't representative of any player vs. player or player vs. GM animosity.

In the end, a player in Open in ED has no reasonable expectation for all other CMDRs to be friendly, for any confrontation with another CMDR to be fair (outside of the expectation that the player of that CMDR is adhering to the rules), or that one character bullying another isn't entirely legitimate gameplay.

Jesus crist, the OPs first encounter with the victim is question is more akin to a pirate raid since asking a player to stop or otherwise blow it up is the modus operandi of ED pirates.

Is that clear enough?

I made my first murder the other day at the CG. It’s actually incredible the amount of remorse, guilt, and regret you go through after doing that. I actually dodn’t really mean to, but I’ve been doing nothing but PVP for the last few weeks so I’m used to hulls that are very tough. The one I killed, the hull was made of paper.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve ganked and killed CMDRs before, but they are other PVPers from other factions who have a good chance of winning the fight. Ofttimes those ganks end in my own ship blowing up. But murdering someone who has no chance... that is a different experience altogether. I’ll wait a while before I do that again.

Yeah, it's not too exciting fighting a ship that blows up in 30 seconds. Still, as easy as credits are to come by, I wouldn't feel bad about it.

I'll still murder the crap out of shieldless traders and Novice Corvettes, though. They're kinda askin' for it.

I think the one kill I actually regret was a Harmless Sidewinder in Eravate. I interdicted him in my T9, just being silly. Game dropped me on top of him, and he died on impact. RIP lol.

It was a chief, and I'm pretty sure it was E rated. I think he only had the two small pulse lasers that come on the ship... also, he had just arrived at Maia, so it's likely that he had just made 20-30 jumps to get there :( Also, in my head the pilot was a fluffy little kitten...
