In flight entertainment

Has a wee search and couldn't find anything similar, so apologies if this is a repeat idea

Was thinking it would be interesting to have some modules for inflight stuff on your ship. A way for your passengers to relax and spend even more of their hard earned Credits :)

You could have:
Casino*
Music hall*
Spa*
Bars
Pantry
Clubs*
Holosuites (if they are in Elite Lore)
Theatre*
Cinema*
Arcade
Gym
Shop*
Staff Cabins

* these would need a staff cabin to operate and maintain.

You could have facilities modules be added to liner class ships (dolphin, Orca etc)

These modules would come in Small, Medium or Large size

Small Modules would be the Gym, Bar, Shop, Pantry, Arcade
Medium modules would be, Gym, Bar, Shop, Spa, Clubs, Staff Cabins (could be androids/robots), Holosuites
Large modules would me, Clubs, Shops, Theatres, Cinemas, Casino, Music Hall

Anyway, the point being that these can generate money in flight, they can develop faults that need repairing (on-board staff or station facilities), they may need cleaning, some maybe cleanable only at stations as they don't require staff but this would be chargeable at the station, your staff would also cost to hire/maintain, and your passengers can respond better to the flight based on the facilities and its upkeep.

Of course passengers expectations should be reasoned to the class of cabin they are in and the type of mission they are on. So Refugees in economy shouldn't get bent out of shape because there is no Casino, Bar or Spa aboard.. but they maybe happy that there is a shop.

Military types may want a gym and a bar,

Holiday goers may want much more, like theatres, spas, cinemas, casinos etc...

anyway it adds an extra dynamic and depth to the passenger missions that make it even more involved than a cargo mission in disguise

I love this! It would be a way to really customise your own cruise liner.... Because you've suggested so many (and I think they're all good suggestions) I think there should be an additional two or three (or however many) entertainment module slots in addition to the core and optional internal ones, specifically for the Dolphin and the Beluga and maybe one or two other ships (Imperial Courier maybe)

I love the idea of this, but we'd be dangerously close to a "Planet Cruiser" style game. All we'd need is passengers walking about speaking Planco and we're there :D

Well, they do say the aim of Elite is to blaze our own path... If someone wants to be an inter-stellar cruise captain... why not ;)

Why not indeed...I know I would! Bring on the Love Beluga...

Awesome idea.

I'd also like to have an "auto jump" system so I could sit back and read Galnet!

I want to have a flying hotel like the cruise liner in Fifth Element.
