No Out-of-game content ingame.

Especially no banners, popups, sliding text, message-spam, NOTHING that butts into the gameplay or doesn't belong to the fictional universe. That means ship manufacturers, corporations and political entities and their respective propaganda. In other words - immersion and RP.

Those ads in front of stations at least sometimes make finding the entrance easier. They all belong to the game's universe though.

If Eddy's makers find it necessary to get extra financing from third party ads - they can keepem in the launcher, main site, even forums.

I actually like the idea if it brings more money to developers.

But I don't wanna advertising banners in front of my nose.

What I wouldn't mind to see are some Holo panels in space near stations with advertisements, or in station ads like the ones you see when you're walking around city.
That would be interesting. :)

Starpoint Gemini 2 has holo panels aroud stations, but imagine someone is paying the devs to have it's own commercial on it. :)

Well said and I totally agree with it :)

On the same line as Tinman and others. Its ok if its done smartly like on holo screens/billboards inside stations etc. No banners and other annoying stuff though. That would kill the immersion.

I just came around the idea, because I wanted to rent such an ad in front of a station... for a birthday greeting. :)

I think, like all others here, that the idea is great. It adds some little surprises to the game... though radio ads are a difficult thing. They quickly get pretty annoying if they are too aggressive like naming a product 45 times in 15 seconds....

the germans may know "Seitenba.... hmmm so win leckers Müsli, Seitenba... Müsli.... von Seitenba...". ;-)

BUT, returning to populated space after weeks of exploring, this aspect of civilization will to my mind be a addition to the gaming-experience. Just make sure that the ads (billboards or radio) fit to the setting of the game.

Regards,
Rhombus

... how much will my ad cost for 1 week in all stations around G180-18? ;-)
