Inconsistent gameplay, arbitrary rules.

You have played other games before, right? So you do know the concept of basic rules and exception to those rules? Well, guess what this is... :) Just because what you want to do is barred by an exception rule, doesnt mean the devs 'betrayed' the rules. That is so incredibly daft I cant even imagine someone would type that out and mean it.

Tell that to the AI ship, that targets players in the SRV.

What? when did I do that? bash what? I didn't bash FD in all of its aspects, I said if everyone is opposed to criticism that makes FD look bad that they will do whatever they want without consequence. I did not Bash something in all of its aspects. that is absurd. If i hated this game 100% and hated everything about it and FD, i wouldnt waste my time.

You as in 'someone'. You started out how you dislike the FD CAN DO NO WRONG attitude, even though noone ever says that here. You than continue with the usual 'fanboys blabla' thing and how it hurts the game. All I am saying is that people can disagree with criticism without being 'fanboys' who think in all caps, apparantly. If you disagree with someone, use arguments. Dont make up blanket statements about vague groups of people. Your avatar would frown on that kind of stuff.

Devs want me to go shoot things in an SRV instead of my ship, and betray the principle of "Blaze your own trail", the very rules of the game, and common sense.

WHY?

What do they gain?

Why cause frustration forcing players to play in ways they don't want to? This is stupid even in linear games, let alone something like this.

I understand that rocket did way too much damage and made it trivial, but why breaking the other methods too?

Devs: "Hey, fight with the SRV, is awesome, look here, you have to do this, do it this way"
Me: "No, I don't like SRV combat, I spent a thousand hours to have my own ship the way I want to and I find the SRV combat tedious"
Devs: "Well, you are out of luck pal, you have to like it the way it is and play however we say you should, but don't forget that this game is about Blazing your own trail"
Me: "Oh, I get it now, my trail is leading me to other games where I can actually choose how I want to do things, cya"

Must admit I'm not that fond of the SRV gameplay either.
