Information Regarding AX Combat Bond Reward Revisions

I shoot Scouts in between the interceptors, or if they annoy me too much. I get the caustic on my Hull either from their caustic missiles fired by scouts and interceptors or from flying through their death clouds (usually by accident).

But no, they aren't shooting the limpets down, they reach my ship but don't "latch on" - I get the "repair limpet attached" sound effects but then it just drops off and floats away without doing anything. It must be a bug because sometimes they will work fine and other instances they never work.

From all of the above considered, the overall goal with adjustments made to AX combat bond rewards as part of 14.02 was to prevent the potential of inflated credit bloat, without it feeling unjust to Commanders without equal payoff in other areas.
Looking at Exo-payouts, you could still make this 5 fold and it wouldn't even scratch at the ridiculous payouts of scanning plants and other biologicals.
The inflated credit bloat ship has long sailed, hit an ice berg and spawned 5 movies and 15 sequels.

Thank you, Sally!

One point to clarify, since money was reduced, can you confirm Combat rank points earned for each kill was not reduced as well?

Part two, if you may, it'd be great to know what factor of an Elite kill each of the Thargoids count for. Example, I've heard Scouts count for 0.75 worth of an Elite kill for Combat rank purposes. True? What about Interpectors?

  • Scenarios have AX Military which are armed with AX weapons to help take Thargoids on.
  • Commanders are acquiring better AX weapons, for example being gimbled and those with enhanced damage.
Hi, like it was said above, AX Bot ships are useless above cyclops...
And the "enhanced damage" is just an increase of the firerate. Nothing to make a basilisk/medusa afraid...
For the scouts, they are awesome but who come to an axcz to fight scouts :p.

Aegis/Azimuth seriously need to improve the ax weapon damages

Hello!
I've had a little confirmation chat and combat rank gained per kill has not been reduced.

We'd really like to use deep diving into more details like this as part of ongoing 'Thargoid War' segments and dev-share on livestreams and so on going forward, so I'll take these kinds of questions and see what I can weave out of them as talking points.

Thanks for the clarification. Makes total sense with all the added gear. CMDRs can now take down a cyclops with an un-engineered Krait and 5 enhanced MCs that don't require an unlock and we can dock and repair our ships in the middle of a battle. Still a crazy amount of credits.

IIRC, Scouts were rebalanced from rating as Elite to Deadly some time ago, so unless it was changed back again, I'd assume they still rate as that.

Not sure on interceptors.

Hmmm. Well, that explains the changes, although I'm not really sure a couple of those reasons make much sense; certainly the improved scanner makes little difference to killing scouts, and the stabilisers come with the significant penalty of losing an internal module slot anyway - wasn't that enough to balance them?

I would also say that, if you're trying to offset the bond changes with improvements to the mission rewards, you are going to have to seriously look at whether the missions are achievable. I don't remember seeing anything in the 14.02 notes about fixing such things as making the missions more achievable or fixing the problem with kills not being credited unless you get the last hit in.

With the recent AX weapons' mods and being able to one shot kill, payouts should bonus for amount of hearts or percentage of interceptor worn down before kill.
Theres no skill to it anymore.

All in all the balances, as made (especially mat bumps), do make sense. Many of us assumed that with the bumped mats/mission payouts this was how the team decided to balance it. Despite the fact that I usually freelance and take a pay cut, it's still reasonable. (freelance= I just have time to hop in and take out a few scouts, or maybe an Interceptor, but not enough time to take missions <btw increasing the timer for Pilot Fed missions to a few days might be nice>)

What I would like for the team's biggest takeaway to be is...your playerbase wants transparency about things. We always have, and this lesson should have already been learned, as we've gone through this routine before in the not so distant past. If we, running forward, could just get explanations as to what is happening. Technically we aren't owed a 'why,' but just tell us 'what.' I think this game has a larger ratio of supertechynerds who like to know the ins and outs of why things were made the way they were, so if you offer up a bit of transparency, we could probably avoid some of the complaining.

This.

It's amazing how the same things keep happening over and over again, leading to the same complaints over and over again.

I'm sure this particular instance was just an accidental oversight, probably on the part of whoever tells the CMs what is happening so they can pass the information onto us, rather than anything deliberate.

Redthorne, Hedganian, I appreciate the need for some of the extra pokes on our failing with this. I don't know how much more apologetic I could be from our side, other than to say it truly is noted and your sentiment on the matter is absolutely understood o7

Hedganian, to double up once again, for sure, as you say it wasn't a deliberate attempt to disrespect you all.

Sally, Xarionn already mentioned it in this thread but it would be very nice to get a timely response since we are in the middle of a time-sensitive war: thargoid control systems have become impossible to make any progress in since the 14.02 patch dropped. Can we PLEASE get a response to this, whether it's a simple acknowledgement that something may be wrong or a rebuttal that things are working as intended due to new gameplay changes?

As always, the complaints aren't directed at you or the other CMs, you are just the unfortunate people in the middle who have to relay the information and decisions made "upstairs" to us.

Soeaking solely for myself, I certainly hope that nothing I've ever said on here has been taken personally, as it is certainly not intended that way.
