So you guys are telling the OP that the game is not broken?
I want that weaponits even clear that the AI does not suffer heat damage lol

Just read a bug report where a wing of 3 Commanders (Asp or greater) were all near Insta-gibbed by a single Viper. Working as intended: I think not. Poor blighters...
Not only heat, they can fire anything indefinintely, w.t.f. . Why make npc that "using hacks". They fly same ships with same modules or its another major screw up and npcs are completely bugged ?
Author is 90% right.
To all of you who who seem to think your experiences are the only valid ones, here's the undeniable proof you seem to need that this stuff is happening. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZN_yZ07-18
Any one still going to try regurgitating the "git gud" garbage?

This was 2.1 and it doesn't matter what kind of weapons the vulture had. No weapon can tear through a ship in 2 seconds like that, and there shouldnt be a weapon that can, honestly.
Like if there was a certain weapon that one shot only CMDR's (I haven't seen any videos of CMDR's one shotting NPC's like this, have you?) would that make it okay? You would want such a thing to exist? I doubt it. It breaks the game even if it is legit.
Fortunately it's not and clearly a bug and should be removed fairly soon.

I bet that if this happened to you a few times you wouldn't be so dismissive. It's frustrating to turn into a target and get ripped to shreds in seconds.
It happened to me twice in Res' so I switched back to my FDL.
i feel you man, have some rep.
I'm really tired, i just don't trust them anymore. Season 2 will probably be my last season. It saddens me because i loved this game too. :S
What are the npc's weapons. I know you say it's plasmas, but how do you know? If you know this information, then please tell me where you got that. Maybe I'm not seeing it. And if you're going by the way the shots appear, well that still doesn't mean it's PA ammo. Could be modified MC's.
Maybe it is a bug, but just calling it a bug does not make it a bug.
which class of multi cannons make such a firing sound and which engineering mod turns them into purple balls?
and the impact on the other clipper looks like a PA hit
conclusion, it's a bugged PA
Can you please explain what you mean by this bit?

Now that that is out of the way I am here to question why these updates are not only so far behind schedule but also nowhere near release worthy. I am not going to talk about the RNG trash, grind, or anything else; I simply want an answer to this question: Why?
Why, after being 6 months late, did Fdev decide to only hold 2-3 weeks worth of beta testing for something that revolved around nothing more than a simple gambling system, and push the product out when it was so far from ready? Broken AI (not talking about the increased challenge, talking about the issues that still remain like stopping and spinning). Missions still don't work, the engineer requirements don't exist (and why did you make it so you need to travel 400LY to the station now selling them?), weapon stats wrong all over the place (DPS doesn't mach what the DMG and fire rate would give, which in itself is DPS so why the extra, and wrong, information?), turrets still don't track and swing wildly without chaff, and the list just continues...
I am angry and so are a great many of others who loved this game. And this raises another, equally, if not more important question: What of the rest of season 2? How much of it are we not going to get in season 2? We're halfway through and we haven't even got the first of 5 updates yet.
Like I stated, I loved this game; that's why I'm so passionate about this. But failure after failure on the same things over and over again as well as adding new failures for very limited successes has worn us down. This isn't a good by post, I'm still eventually going to find the will to push that play button again; but FD, we've had so much faith and such high expectations of you but you're letting us down. Is money tight? Do we need to discuss monthly subs to get the required funds to get enough staff? Something's up and it's killing the game. Let us know what it is, get some dialogue going so we can salvage this.
@foebits: I don't have the quote with me right now, but I remember someone from FDev stating that they define a season as all announced expansions, so even if the development time for all of them exceeds one year, they will be available to all Horizons buyers.
I think I remember that now too, which is all well and good, but how much extra time will it take? And since it looks like things will be VERY late, what will that do to the planned season 3 when they can't release it next year? That's going to be a lot of potential income gone that it seams that they just can't afford to lose. And we all suffer from that.
