PvP Interdiction Help

But when I came out of supercruise I got annihilated. Anything I can do to prevent this in the future?

Immediately go silent and rotate to face your opponent. Boost past them, dump a heatsink when temp gets critical, and initiate a jump to the next system in your route (and always have a route plotted to somewhere) the moment your FSD cooldown has finished, dumping another sink when you get hot again.

It had some good tips but I only have like 5 mil credits. Far too expensive.

The critical parts don't have much to do with the particular ship.

The only thing you really need to do, loadout wise, with your Cobra is make sure it's got good drives, a good distributor, a heatsink launhcer, and that you've filled all those small optional internals with HRPs.

Just be wary of hi traffic popular systems until you have several more rebuys and a few tricks up your sleeves.
This is the key bit: there are probably only a few hundred players who will attack your Cobra, mostly hanging around high-importance systems, and there are about twenty thousand inhabited systems in your region. If you stay away from the real hotspots you'll be safe regardless of your ship, and can build up a bit more money, equipment and experience.

@OP,
I too was interdicted by the same person last night in a Power Play system, there is absolutely no counter to being interdicter whether by an NPC or PLAYER. All the advice in the world they are giving you just won't work as the way that FD put in a onesided game mechanic rendering the loss of a ship useless and just going thru the rebuy screen is all you can do.
@Phisto Sobanii GG 07 CMDR.

I have avoided many interdictions by NPCs and this was my first time being interdicted by a player.

The majority of interdictions can be avoided before they even start, some can be fought off, and, with a modicum of sense, escape is usually possible...even if you've missed the multiple opportunities to not find yourself in normal space with a hostile vessel.

You can also practice your interdiction avoiding tactics by dropping into solo and flying around with expensive cargo in suitable systems which will encourage NPCs to interdict you.

That's a bad advice because it will lure you into a certain security, but when the first player interdicts you, your anti-NPC interdiction technique will fall apart quickly.
I can avoid nearly any NPC even in a T9, against players it's vastly different. The best advice is use a cheap ship in open to try it, eat the incoming rebuys and learn to submit & highwake when in doubt.

With only 5 million to your name I would switch everything to D rated and put a size 4 refinery and size 4 cargo bay in.
Fill every other slot with collector controllers, a prospect limpet controller and a detailed surface scanner.
Your hardpoints should be two size 2 mining lazers.
Then hit a ring with one of the three P's in it. (Painite, palladium and the other one)

Old fashioned Lazer mining will earn you enough to buy Phistos build plus rebuys. Then and only then, when you have some cash in your pocket and a fancy ship under you it will be safe to re-engage .

Oh and don't forget your Limpets.
Turns out I suck at mining.

Ok.

I'm going to totally Gank the PvP forum and post a mining discord link.

Go there. Get rich. Come back here.

Wait...

A well known pirate businessman invites a newbie to a discord where people can get advice on void opal mining, specific ship loadouts, and -presumably- good mining locations?
At the same time redirecting him from the forum where he will get the best advice about combat loadouts and to become a capable fighter.

I'm sure that is all just a funny coincidence :sneaky:
