International Union of Zoos (Roleplay)

Attention all members of the IUZ

This storm first reported by UNITY Zoo is being closely watched by meteorologists. According to their predictions, the tropical storm, which they’ve named officially Hurricane Europa, and which has gotten the nickname The Great Eurasian Typhoon, is going to move across Europe and Asia, crossing the pacific into North America. Anything in its path has a chance to be destroyed. It is uncertain how long it will take before it hits the Sahara, it’s likely final stop before assimilating into a tropical depression, but it could be anywhere from a few weeks to a month. We highly advise that all of our registered members close their zoos and take the proper precautions to prevent the impact this devastating natural disaster could have.

Best wishes, the IUZ Team.

This is referring to the Gift Shop bug that is happening. The best way to prevent anything getting lost is to either not build a gift shop, or if you already have, don’t play your save until the bug is fixed.
In addition Unity just got notice that there are dangerous side storms. Unity will close their doors until the situation is cleared. The animals are save, this is just precausion.
It seems like also save files without a gift shop have been corrupted occasionally. I'll wait for the patch until I play again.

On unrelated notice: The circle let me found out that gender, name and genetic of offspring are derermined right after mating. In my old save the exact same babies were born again.

Is it already known if the Storm might also reach Japan?

The workers at the nearby Research station are keeping an eye on that hurricane. It seems like it won't hit Antarctica, so we're safe here, but our hopes and thoughts go out to all zoos in the areas affected by the storm!

I haven't used the gift shops yet and I definitely won't until they are patched

It is unknown at the moment, the weather experts are saying that it is definitely going to cross the Pacific to North America. It could cross Japan, it could miss it.
Definitely need to keep an Eye on that. If it should get close, we might need to keep the Bactrian Camels in the Water Buffalo Stable to keep them safe. We're also worried about our Cranes because we don't know where to keep them if it happens. Over 40 Birds, so it definitely won't be easy to move them to a safe Place

Update on Hurricane Europa

We have confirmation from our meteorologists that the storm is starting to die down in intensity. It will stay on its current predicted path, but due to its smaller strength it may travel in an unexpected direction. A lot is still uncertain at the moment, but we will hopefully get more information in the coming days.

We now now the devs are working on the issue. I got the information from the thread https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/save-wont-load.621906/#post-10285872

Today we are proud to welcome Dr. Walter Williams from the Institute of agricultural Science in Tokyo. He was interested to take DNA Samples of the Water Buffalos in our Petting Zoo. Apparently a Group of Wild Water Buffalos was imported 50 Years ago and they are interested to find out if any Water Buffalos in Zoos are Descendants of this Herd. We can`t wait to read the Results.

You Jinxed it!
(I’m sorry! I’m sorry! 🫥)
First I'm the only reason why Frontier did not add flying birds to the game, now I killed a white bull 😭 ;)
Back to game...

Dear Sapporo Wild Animal Kingdom,
we are very sorry to hear about your sudden loss. It's always especially sad when an animal that just arrived dies so quickly.
Our thoughts are with you in these challenging times.

a Shame that there`s no Water Buffalo Sculpture. Would`ve loved to include one in his Memorial

He didn`t just arrive. He had a happy Life here for many Years

if anyone would be willing to take care of our surviving red foxes and polar bears at their facility, please let me know.
Hello,
Do your foxes still need homes? We have a small nature park here in the town of Sola called Maple Park. There is a push for our beautiful park to become a zoo! In the meantime, the mayor has given me permission for the park to house a few of your foxes! We just need to know their genetics and appearance if possible? Presently our park only has butterflies and then the population crashes constantly... So foxes would bring in a bit of a more steady income but more importantly we'd provide them the best of care. (IF you like, I could send enclosure plans and also let me know what each individual enjoys!)

Yes, the foxes do still need homes, we need a home for Andreas, a leucistic male with great genetics, and Kylie, a dark red female with all genetics above 50%. We would be so happy if you could house these foxes!
